I’ve always enjoyed taking photographs. So much can be captured and it is awesome to look at. My cousin is a photographer and he always carries his DSLR everywhere just in case. I would love to get into it more but can’t afford to splash out on some serious gear. At the moment I’ll just have to stick with my handheld and get into it some other time. It’d be awesome to be a snowboarding photographer professionally. Hard to get into though I would imagine. If I get any more inspiration in the next week I’m in Queenstown I’ll be sure to post the results here. Thanks for the encouragement.
good to see some action shots ...havent been able to get up on the hill until today..finally 10 cm of fresh and some blue sky at turoa today…tried out my new canon D10 point and shoot..just the one shot to share the stoke..it takes video as well so will try to get a clip up

@Mark
Really like those photos. How did you do the sequence thing? I did the layers + mask thing in photoshop for mine but it was quite tedious to paint out the background.
Shot from a tripod with the Cl speed setting (where i can select 1-7fps (since 8+ is CH)) I actually canned every other frame because the spacing was too tight. I did in photoshop: File -> Scripts -> Import as stack. Set layer transparency to 60%, then just wanded out the blue around the person. I originally tried just lassooing around but there was slight changes in the contrast of the sky which made the cut visible in some frames. Wanding is quick and dirty and doesnt work very well for ski poles, but boarders are pretty easy.
Hoping to get some good photos at the Dew Hut Jam this sat night up here at buller. Here are a couple more in the mean time

Dew Hut Jam tomorrow night. Have secured a media pass so should be able to get some good shots without fighting the crowd. Find out about positioning at the media briefing tomorrow
