I tried to get a refund on my christmas trip as I could have used that money but I can’t :-(
yeah it is still pretty early on so that makes sense, just don’t beat yourself up about it too much. You made a mistake and everyone makes them! You’re lucky in a way that your mistake only involved monetary loss. It’ll suck for a bit, but you’ll be sweet.
Shame about the refund not being possible, I wondered if you’d consider that. I daresay that by the time it comes around, you’ll still be happy to go?
It would have been a super scary experience (our 270 spin at selwyn this year scared the bejeezus out of me and it was nothing!) and I’m guessing could have ended up a lot worse than it did, and for many people it does.
Traffic accidents suck and can be very traumatic…..I’m just glad you are ok!

Farken heavy night last night. Probably the worst drive I’ve had down here this season. Was in contact with Kim the whole way down and she was 10-15 mins behind the whole way down. Just after Cooma hadn’t texted much and just sent a text saying “still alive back there?” Quick reply and instructions to give her a buzz when I got to the bottlo so I could pick something up for her. Just before the big sweeping left that brings Jindy into view and I had my own butt pucker moment as some dirty great big roo jumped out in front of me, jumped on the anchors and had a big swerve and avoided the bastard but was a pretty close thing.
Got to the bottlo and called Oz, no answer, called again same thing, started to wonder what was happening when she called me back in a bit of a panicked state and explained what happened. Jumped back in the car wondering how I was going to find her cause from her description it sounded like she was way off the road. Ended up finding her with a bunch of cars around and ppl helping out. Poor Oz needed a hug but appeared to otherwise be unharmed. Ended up back at Oz parents and stayed the night there after winding down slowly from the ‘excitement’.
Bad news today regarding insurance, might have to come up with some ideas for Oz to come out of it as best she can, I’m thinking putting the wreck on ebay might get her a bit more cash than the wreckers or perhaps semi wreck it herself flogging the engine driveline etc separately. Side impacts so that side of things should be ok, the axles are rooted though.
Gees devo oz! What time did this all go down. I drove through a bit after midnight and it certainly got hairy at times around the dam. I thought I saw a car off the the right of the road around there but it was soo dark.
Yeah, I reckon if you can rally together a few spanners, and list all the good parts on eBay, it may be a bit of work but it will def give more $$$ than a wrecker!!!!!
Or even try a Subie Mechanic that’s pretty near by, and they might but the car for parts at a reasonable price?????
