Anyone got their grubby little mits on one for a play yet?

The read up looks pretty good smile

A new camera is definitely an essential purchase I HAVE to make.
And because most my Nikon mount lenses are near dead I can consider going back to Canon.

What sort of price is the 6D?

before purchasing anything I have to make a budget and review my finances

D600 looks more promising…on paper anyways (and im a numbers man) LOL

apparently MSRP in US 2100

What does the MS stand for in MSRP?

The 6D is an epic place to start for a Full-Frame body! such a good price, and worth it if you want to get into any sort of portrait/lifestyle photography, particularly with the ISO inheritance from the 5D. Not as quick a FPS as you might want if your only shooting sports, but still not too bad.

Thanks Mizu

fmf,  I’ll be upgrading from a Nikon D70 (6MP).
I don’t really need full frame or 20MP or even video.

Honestly a D40 has all I require, the most important thing for me is durability. But if I can use my Rentsmart account and get FullFrame, 1080p, 20mp camera with lens kit and FD & IS lens adapters I’ll do it.

We have found (you won’t believe it) our 7D frame rate a little to fast. When we have shot rails with a view to stitching the frames together for a sequence, the over lap is to much and it makes it hard to do.
The 500D or 50D was better suited for the job.

I think we will end up with a 6D or two in our kit sooner than later.

Anyone interested in a 7D or a 50D cheese

Could very possibly be Azz if you decide to get rid of them

Funny you say that Azz, hit the same conundrum with my 7D!

But its easy enough to skip every two frames if your stitching, but sometimes those extra frames might provide a better tweak on a trick etc that you could have otherwise missed.

On that note, I’m loving my 5D mkiii and haven’t really touched my 7D since. Have only really used it for photo’s over 3 sessions now, but its nice! The AF system on it is unbelievable, so smart! Very happy with the upgrade.

spaz - those 20MP can go a long way if you need to crop an image to suit your framing tastes! Again, the upgrade from the 7D -> 5D has so far been invaluable

on my nikons there’s a high speed button and a programmable low speed button. don’t you guys have that? top speed on my d300 is 6fps but i can set the low speed button to anything from 1 to 6fps.

What’s ya opinion of shooting a sequence using a Multiple Exposure Setting?????

Would that work in this instance?????

* Note, that I have no clue, and I’m wanting to learn!!!!!

The 7D has a one shot, shot every .5 sec (or so) and the full rate. To be able to choose the frame rate would be awesome.

Mizu, I suppose if you are just doing it to get the background to correct exposure compared to the rider, then yes you could do it.
