Can you please explain what the #tags do, when are where do I use them and or apply?
Yep and the same on Twitter.
So you know how people talk about trending topics? Hastags are the way people all are talking about the same thing on twitter!
So this morning someone wrote something which seemed cryptic about jill Meagher and i was confused so i clicked on the hashtag and it took me to all the tweets with the hashtag and i found about out the guy being charged etc.
Also hashtags are used for discussing tv shows and the like.
try checking out #qanda when the show is on - it trends every week!
So on the twitter home page, its on the left !!!?
OK, and when you tweet, the #tag is part of the tweet?

They are part of the tweet thats why they are shorten and motivated

I didn’t think I articulated it very well, so I took it down to reword it and then forgot about it. It was far from insulting (other than to me perhaps) but perhaps not as diplomatic as it could have been. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t valid though.
I thoroughly agree, it was FAR from “insulting”. Unfortunately, other more petty, sensitive types disagree (hence the quotation marks).
