Oh cool!
I checked out a few of the IG sites for viewing photo’s - just settled on gramfeed as my choice and one worth recommending.
Dont have any of those apps and have no interest in them either
you probably need to drill down into the bigger list which is linked at the bottom. In any case, a lot of those apps are US-centric and don’t really apply here. Still, it’s a good starting point to get you thinking about what’s out there.
my bad
yes .... very US centric
really wish someone would make site like appshopper for android
would really help us cheapskates who never pay a cent for apps .....
I lie .....ive bought 3 apps so far for a whopping total of 3 bucks
i use statigram. works fine for me.
Use statigram on occaison but was amazed how long it took to get my stats - 2days.
Gramfeed I prefer for it’s simplicity. Also why I love IG
Jez should check statigram for implementing feeds and urls
Woot - this mornings jelly bean update allows you to switch between portrait & landscape!
But what I really came on her to ask was
Talk to me about Widgets!!
Talk to me about Widgets!!
What do you need to know?
Basically they are a whole lot more useful/prettier than a grid of “rounded square icons”
I mainly use them for things like weather/calendar/to do list/email/social media feeds etc
It means I can get the information I need with a glance at my screen without the need to open an app.
I found that they don’t update all that often and are always hours to days behind when you use the Twitter / Facebook feeds.
Um okay - so um how do i set that up?
(i have NO idea what they do!)

That’s strange, I never have a problem with mine. Certain apps have a setting where you can adjust the refresh interval.

Really easy same as adding a shortcut to an app to the screen. You can either long hold on the home screen or menu button depending on device of simply go to the apps folder but this time go to widgets. Select which widget you want and drag it to your home screen of choice. You can resize/move it whenever you desire.
You will have a choice of stock built in widgets included in the OS and most apps these days come with widgets in different sizes when needed (that’s what the 1x1 or 4x2 mean). Widgets are generally interactive as well and not just static images.
I don’t have my tablet on me so my phone will have to do.
This is an example of a weather (pocket weather australia 4x2) and calendar widget.
This is the section in the app folder where you can drag and drop widgets to your home screens.
