Nothing great, only ended up with a 37cm bass and an eel. The bass are still on their way back to the river as the temp changes.
How was your morning sesh?
Just doing a bit of night fishing near my place.
Set up with a generator, spotties, butane gas cooker for dinner, rod holders, 5 rods and boardworld

Oh and got the J’s pumpin with short, fast, loud
Do you get Mulloway in that spot?
don’t be letting any fisheries folks see you fishing with 5 rods…...
looked good for fishing this afternoon out front. I haven’t been in what feels like ages. Going out sat morning though. please tell me they are on the bite!
by the way 37cm bass is pretty bloody good…you dont often get them much bigger unless in an impoundment.
Nah, no mulloway there mate.
We only had 4 out between the two of us using the 5th every now and then with a popper so we would of been covered. We never seen any of the fisheries in that part of the river anyway but we usually on have 2 rods max in the water per person at any time.
Let us know how you go on the weekend crackers!
37 is alright, biggest I got early this year at that spot was 42cm with a popper but overall my mate got one down in Penrith that was 53cm on a vibe

It was poor to my standard but great day bonding my young son at the nearly calm water.
He outfish me by a grass tuskie and a nice sole, we caught lots of under size snappers… released back in water.
Plus one lonely sand crab in our crab pots on home way…

oh yeh fair enough…ignore me. I thought you were on your own. We rarely see fisheries here either but I saw a whole lot of people get busted on the weekend. which reminds me….where the hell did i put my license?
Do you get estuary perch there as well or only bass?
I don’t hold huge expectations for tmrw because I am going with a big crew, its not my boat or my decision where to go. I’d say we will get flathead and a few other things.
Saturday fishing for a bucks party, we went out of Sydney harbour and 8/16 people got really seasick once we were outside the heads (as usual) and once they got to 8 down they outvoted us and we had to go back in. We had only caught 2 flathead and two leather jackets by that stage ( my dad and me had got two big flathead and a big 6 spine leather jacket). On the way back in though we had to motor through a huge bait ball with 1000’s of mutton birds circling around. We threw out out some lures and trawled through and managed to get 4 really big salmon ( and lost about 8) and one mutton bird, which scratched the hell out of me hahah. The last trawling bit was really fun but didn’t really make up for having to go in early.
Boat should just stay out, they knew they were going out for x hours on a boat, and thats the way it should stay haha. Plus more burley fir the ones that are fishing

Nah, no perch either mate. The only fish I know of that may be in there are bass, Carl, a few diff kinds of catfis and the odd cod if ya lucky. Then ya have ya crayfish, yabbies etc
Anyone know of any decent places to hire small boats (tinny) just to go out for a fish?

I’m devo for ya crackers! The rule should be stay out regardless. Did the guys take any seasick tabs beforehand? The few charters I’ve been on stay out and those guys just have to sit there and feel sorry for themselves.
The trawling sounds fun though, I want to go out on a game fishing charter soon, been awhile since I had done something like that.
What size were the salmon mate? Did u guys keep all the catch?
^ Australian Salmon, I was told they dont rate a good eating… there are some agures in other fishing forums.
I wondered you NSW fisherman like eating them… just out of my curious
I’m not keen on eatin them!!!!!
Along with Tailor either!!!!!
If you plan on eating them you need to make sure that you bleed them straight away and basically cook them that night or the night after but I wouldn’t recommend any later..they go alright with just some garlic butter drizzled over the fillets and then BBQ each fillet for about 5 mins on each side (size dependant of course)

A few of them took tablets, not all though. Yeh they should stay out really, doesnt matter I was over it anyways…..I have been on three bucks ‘fishing’ charters and they are basically pretty crap. They are set up for bottom bashing, with massive sinkers and you can barely tell if you get a bite, when there is action on the top they don’t have the gear for you to change to anway. They had two lures onboard and the deckie didn’t really know what to do when we hit the bait ball, me and another friend who fish a lot had his lures on and trolling before he knew what was going on.
If you do a charter, go on a specialised charter with a low number of people and be specific when you talk to them i.e ask do they have gear to fish for kingies? for Mackeral etc etc, they need to be ready to change gear at a moments notice.

where is it that you actually fish?....Cod? I thought you lived in Sydney?
