I’m sure you think I am. I’ve explained my point. I’m out.

No, it’s not that I ‘think’ you are - you simply ARE. It’s all there in black and white.  rolleyes

To get this topic back on track, I finally started using my iPhone 5 last night. Looks nice, feels nice, so far not blown away by it. I’m curious as to why I’m only getting three bars of reception (out of five), when any other phone I’ve used has always given me full reception here. Downloaded a couple of apps; finally have Instagram on my phone! I’ll hopefully buy a case for it today. Any suggestions?

Guys, please don’t turn this thread into a debate; it’s not what it was meant for. You’ve all made your points so please leave it at that. smile

What provider were ya with before?????

You’re with Optus with this phone yeah?????

Interesting that you are not blown away with it considering you did such a big upgrade!

Shame about the reception. Have you changed providers?

If you put the 5 up against a previous iPhone it really doesn’t look impressive. Yes it’s an upgrade but its still the same old crap they were flogging 5 years ago with a better processor inside. Which is good if it’s what you want and 5 years ago, iOS was state of the art but now I fell like it’s just lacking features and there is so much more they could have done.

Sorry not trying to make a debate, just trying to explain why Rider might feel like the upgrade is not blowing him away.

Not really sure how a phone/computer/any tech these days really blows anyone away????? We’ve all become a little complacent with things that bedazzle us these days I reckon!!!!!

And It all depends on the rest of your toys as to how far ya really wanna be entertained!!!!!

For me, next on my list will be Apple TV, and then a newer Mac!!!!!

I’ll have to conjure up a good argument for gettin one though, as I think Mrs Mizu has heard most of my other lines and I’m runnin out fast!!!!!

Not debating here either, but a lot of people will also feel the same way as you TJ!!!!!

The whole concept of Apple products is that they are user friendly straight from the box!!!!!

That’s how they built such a following!!!!! They don’t make ads that rubbish the opposition cause they don’t need to!!!!!

People use Apple because it removes the drama of havin to be Tech Savvy on the inside of a device, rather than just pickin it up and usin it as it was meant to be used!!!!!

I may be wrong, but that’s how I have accepted Apple to be from my experiences with both it and it’s competitors!!!!!

I compare it to my Subaru!!!!!

They still run the same style Boxer Configuration that they have always done, they still stand by their AWD in a family car just like they have always done!!!!!

Don’t expect to be amazed when you buy a Subaru, just expect to get where ya wanna go!!!!! It’s a car!!!!! It was designed to do a certain job and that was to get you from A to B and in a safe manner, and it does it well!!!!!

Haven’t changed carriers. Have always been with Optus and I still am. Weird about the reception.

I’m sure the phone will be great to use. I’ve never really seen a phone as much more than a phone, but yeah, it works a lot better than my iPhone 3. The truth is I haven’t done much with it yet. Sent a few messages, took a few photos, downloaded a couple of apps. I’ll start playing with it when I have more time. All in all it seems like a very nice phone which I’m sure I will love.

Speaking of Suburu, I really want to buy a WRX.

Yep I totally agree with you Mizu. That’s what apple is going for and it’s what their customers want. Though they seem to be losing quite a bit of the market to Android phones which are pushing the boundaries rather than pushing the same thing with slightly better insides every year.

You do see people who swap over to Android and then come back to Apple but on the whole, I have seen tons of people who swap and never look back.

I might be wrong, but I thought that this iPhone has gone ape shit in sales already?????

Speaking of Suburu, I really want to buy a WRX.

Why a WRX?

All i can see is a hefty annual insurance bill for something that is not needed in city/day-to-day driving!

Ash’s car she got for her Skibum trial looks pretty good to me!

Just read that investors weren’t happy with the goal of between 6-10 million units sold in the first weekend of release!!!!!

They sold 5 million instead, which still surpassed the sales of the 4S!!!!!

That’s what they want you to think. They don’t manufacture enough product for the demand and they sell out. Therefore making it look like they are selling massive amounts (and they are) but not what they can actually sell. They want the prestige of the product to stay out there for a few months so that the fan base stays high.

The main problem with this is that it disappoints customers. I.E. my boss who needs to purchase outright (for work reasons) can’t get one yet. This then pushes people away in the long term.

Now Apple will sell a ton of iPhone 5’s but it won’t nearly be the same as the 4s which wasn’t as high as the 4, which wasn’t as high as the 3gs etc.
