Lester don’t hijack this thread - just start a new one. Don’t know why you’re buying two boards since the greats will handle everything.
Samnz, are you sure the experience you rode wasn’t a 163?

Sorry buddy
@sam and gamblor: How stiff is the experience? I demoed a 159 Krypto this past spring and it is by far the stiffest board I’ve ever tried, especially torsionally. I just can’t imagine how much stiffer is Xavier’s board.
it’s a stiff as a custom x but really damp.

Sorry yeah, could have been a 63.
It’s Rossi’s stiffest board, skip. But it doesn’t feel like it. There are carbon rods between the feet, but they finish before the tip and tail which means the ends of the board are quite soft - I could even butter this board a little bit! It’s definitely not ‘stiff’ in regards to other boards you will have ridden, it’s worth testing it if you can.
Hmm never tried the custom x, but yea the krypto’s tip is soft but the middle of the board and torsionally is super stiff. I’ll try the experience when I get the chance.
if you found the krypto too stiff then don’t bother with the experience. If you’re doing big gnarly lines with consequences then it’s the best board for the job
Oh man, I had forgotten about the Krypto, unless you’re hitting some more advanced, gnarly lines, the Krypto is a better option for most people. It’s a slightly more versitile board based off the Experience. As Gamblor says, if you’ve ridden it and didn’t like it don’t bother with the Experience, but if you did then check it out.
I’m not thinking of buying it, just interested in how it would ride.
Sorry guys if i didn’t explain my self a bit better before hand…....
My jp walker feels so stif sometimes…........ I want some thing thats going to feel a bit lose on the feet!
I like the lose feel, my first board was a “jermey jones” than the stepchild… I rode the YES “TAS MEN” at the shred last year and love it for the time that i was on it….
I’m just not to sure!!
If you loved the Tasman, check out the YES Greats. I think you’d love it. Super versatile from park to pow.
Otherwise, go for something more pow specific. But if you want a board to ride everywhere, YES Greats would be my pick.
I’m not sure if you would know rider but are there many Greats still floating around in stores? if so are they likely to be discounted for the end of season? At this stage I’m probably just window shopping but wouldn’t mind knowing. Cheers
Cheers guys for the help!!
I’ll keep you guys posted on what i get…..
What do you think guys??
