The next Shred, WHERE?

Avatar

OK, have already bought a Hotham / Falls pass for me and my loved ones (that live with me)

But, if the shred is going to be at Perisher again and we are thinking about heading back up the last week of this season, IIRC I get some bonus days riding this year if I buy next years pass now?

So whats the likely hood of the shred being at Perisher again?

Trying to figure out the best economics smile

We have freedom passes for next yr, but will save up for wherever the shred may end up!!!

Unless you plan to do 1 non-shred trip, it’s cheaper to just buy the weekly ticket in like March than to pay for the freedom pass.

Though, we really should be organising the next shred prior to the current one happening. If it’s in Hotham / Falls / Thredbo, I now have a pass for Perisher and will need to pay extra to go to the shred (I will but would prefer not to lol). If it’s at Perisher, my trip is like $400 cheaper. If it was organised, I could get that pass instead and just do the bit extra travel to make it worth while (or in Thredbo’s case, no extra travel).

I don’t know where it will be yet but I doubt it will be at Perisher. I hope that helps somewhat.

Had you not added that disclaimer in brackets, I would’ve been waiting at my mailbox all next week, Azz!!!!!

I knew you would LOL

Cool, no Perisher pass. Thanks, that would of hurt the hip pocket smile

TJ I am confused about what you wrote above.

Azz are you saying that you are keen to buy a season pass for 2013 for perisher IF the shred is going to be there - hoping you get some bonus days at persiher now?

You only get one for you and one for a friend. So if you did get a pass then you would only get 2 days free skiing.

TJ is right though if you only go to perisher for the shred you are better off buy the week lift tix at the beginning of the season. If they offer it cheap like they did this year. But even if they don’t i think a week at perisher in sept was cheaper than the seasons pass buying the day you started skiing.

As for where the shred is next year - I don’t care!

Perisher would be a bonus - i should no longer be a trainee and can free ski in my red jacket.

I would love the shred to be early enough so i can fly to hotham (if it is at Hotham) I will be def going to Hotham anyway as some dude i know is haveing a 40th party there!!

Sorry, Shred @ Perisher = cheaper
Shred elsewhere = more exxy for me. With notice, I may have got a different season pass. (though we all know I probably wouldn’t have).

I would love to have it at Hotham as I haven’t ridden there but I stayed there and it’s an awesome place. If I’m invited to a 40th, I’ll make a trip down if possible smile

Thredbo would be good as well if we got the Shred Shed again. Price wise, last year was so much cheaper than this year even after we factored in food etc. And you can drive cars right up to the mountain for the week.

Perisher was awesome, just getting up there and moving around / meeting up is hard on such a big mountain. Also factoring in such a good season meant the whole mountain was open.

Falls park I’ve heard is amazing but the runs are short which would be a bit annoying.

Since nobody here gets a Buller pass, I believe that won’t happen lol.

FYI

we paid 300 bucks (each) for 5.5 days lift pass for the shred

I reckon Falls would make a great party town for the Shred!!!!!

The Accomodation would more likely be a bit cheaper than Hotham also!!!!!

Cut me down if I’m wrong Mexicans, but I think Hotham is the place to go for Pow Pow Days as opposed to Spring Shreddin?????

I have a meeting with Thredbo on Tuesday and we will be discussing the Shred amongst other things. I’ll let you know how the meeting goes. For me, it really depends which resort wants us there, wants to help us and wants to support Boardworld. I hate to say it but the politics behind the scenes definitely plays a role in where the Shred will be next year. I’m hoping to have it resolved soon.
