Contract Snowboards… 3D Snake Transition

Avatar

Hey guys here I go again….. So i sorta stumbled across this and if you guys haven’t noticed I’m a bit of a nut when if comes to new tech on boards well damn near anything related to snowboarding but n e who.  Contract Snowboards? ever heard of them? Seem like small time compared to Lib Tech, Burton, K2 but hey they all start small too so I don’t pass things up just cause they new look at YES. Snowboards 3 going on 4 years in biz so thought I’d bring it up over here…

3D Snake Transitions is the selling feature they seem to be selling looks weird as all hell i won’t sugar coat it but seems to be something to at least look at no? http://www.snaketransition.com/ the site don’t tell you much but at least it explains it a lil looks like Magne-Traction but through the width of the board..  also they big on 0 camber and positive camber seems like the stiffen up the board between feet and let it loose tip and tail.  here is there site http://www.contractsnowboards.com and some interesting pics grin now im not jumping into buying one just yet but I would love to test one out.. Any info, comment would be greatly appreciated as always..

Heard about this board a few years ago. No experience because haven’t found one store that sells or demo this board in Canada.

Never heard of them. Looks weird. I don’t understand the wavy pattern on the actual base. I wonder what the benefit is? I would be interested to hear how they ride. Keep us posted.

I reckon it would slow you down having a base like that

And it would feel so weird on boxes and rails.

Yeah the only problem is that demo day for line are no where to be found unless I fly to poland where they are made, the only way to test these out is to pick one up myself, I’m pretty much already set for this upcoming season with The Great (which I know will be a sick ride) ad Bataleon ET (the ET is my test board because of the tech) but I noticed that the Contract board really drop in price on last years model so if I see one in my size like that I’ll pick one up and put it to the test. It’s a weird concept but that’s not a bad thing,, it really caught my eye and from what I read it adds pop which is always good thing and stability at high speed.. I’ll let u guys know if I get any info or if I get my hands on one of these..

They say you can hardly feel it on rails which sounds iffy but u never know hmmm

I reckon thats a bit iffy. I can see teh rails wanting to drift into those grooves. limiting you to where you place the rail under board and the angles which you do that. And swiviling from a locked position.

They were saying it helps with torsional stiffness and edge grip.
