The Station Resort is owned by Perisher and they often have very good package deals including accommodation and lift passes.

The roads are fine 99% of the time. Of course if there’s snow on the road you will need chains, but realistically that only happens a few times a season. Are you going to drive all the way into Perisher, or will you park at the Ski Tube and get the train over? If you take the Tube, you won’t need to pay the National Parks fees and you won’t have to carry chain in your car.

ah um im not to sure, i have never been there and neither has my mate, he just lives in Sydney. catching the train in could be a goer espicially if we get out of paying the national park fee.

Yeah you’ll save on chain hire (compulsory for 2WDs to carry) and National Park fee. But they’ll get you with the Ski Tube ticket. wink

I think it works out easier/cheaper overall if you get the Ski Tube, especially if you are there for a few days (park fee is something like $35 a day).

From Jindaybyne, continue towards the snowfields, then turn off for Thredbo. Just before you hit the National Park entrance, you will see the Ski Tube sign on right.

dude ill be heading that way around those dates we should totally catch up for a shred, me n my hommies always looking to hang with krew

ill be down at the mountains around that time too haha

yeh ill look up that ski tube now.. and how far away is Thredbo from there? sux living in Perth, i dont have a clue haha

and have to catch up for a shred for sure and a few beers
nyteskye - where u staying

Thredbo is pretty much 15 minutes from the ski tube. Remember that with the bag jump as you posted in another thread, you will have to pay for a lift pass. that means you are looking at 140ish for the lift pass and 2 jumps.

And you need to drive to Thredbo so you need chains and National parks pass again.

The ski-tube =  win if you have 1 or 2 people in the car, otherwise its cheaper and easier to drive up from jindy.

far out, all these extra costs arent cool at all, ill have to see how the money goes while im at Perisher.
