That’s the kind of thing I get in trouble for saying in school. It doesn’t matter that it’s the truth. It sucks that most of the other kids don’t really care about having their own opinion, as long as they don’t get into trouble for having one.

LOL

Ignore the science because it some of it is funded by interest groups (where else would the funding come from?), ignore the research coming out of Universities. But if Alan Jones et al say it on the radio/newspaper it is 100% fact with no bias!

im not going to bite on this subject again.
Been in way too many overly heated arguments on this topic and not in the mood to get back into it.

Know one thing, no matter what side says what, any scientific data can be manipulated to support any cause. Dont believe every thing you read…

Yeah, I better stop too. My dad says I should try not to argue with overly religious people like global warming alarmists.

Because that’s his job.

Sounds like you don’t have your own opinion anyway, just your dad’s one.

Funny that you think the green movement and the government are the same thing hahahahaha

Interesting to note that so many of the climate scientists that are sceptics are funded by the fossil fuel industry or their ‘institutes’, but that is conveniently forgotten in threads like this. I also find it interesting that so many people claim that scientists are biased because they are dependant on funding from government, yet the government has changed from liberal to labour in Australia and the scientists are still saying the same thing.

Anyways carry on with your big business supplied pre-packaged sound bites i.e climate alarmist. Repeat Ad nauseam and you will have convinced yourself that humans have no impact on the environment.

Everyone respects their dads opinion (well most anyway) so I say its fair for beeseekay to say that.

Funny that I think the government and big business are the same thing. I guess it depends where you are looking from.

I don’t believe anything I read in the press with out looking into it further. The standard of Journalism these days is terrible.

Do i believe we are having an impact on the environment?

Absolutely, it is naive/bordering on ignorant to believe we aren’t.

But i dont believe we are having as much an impact as some of these “climate change experts” would have you believe.

Does anyone actually do the slightest bit of research on the subject? and i dont mean just skimming over poorly written articles on ninemsn.com.au? Like read research papers from both sides etc?

I doubt many people do read research papers or have the capacity to begin to decide if the statistics in them are legitimate. That is why I very much doubt that most people that have to rely on the media, have the slightest idea about whether climate change is real or not. That also makes it easier for anyone that does have vested interests to cloud the water and confuse the public.

Exactly.
Both sides are guilty of this.

I’m just not so sure what the big deal is about changing the way our society functions, so that we have less impact on the environment. What can be wrong about it?
