Its not how you imagine at all! It is actually a big family type place as well!
Its like saying you wont go to Sydney cause of the cross!
mmm maybe. I’m not really sure - just can’t think what I’d like to do there. (except get out as fast as possible?). I don’t know anything there that isn’t about wasting money and that is (especially when it comes to travel, cos you can do so much more when you stretch your dollars) one of my pet hates!
I dunno though. Maybe I sound all high and mighty and next year pictures of me will surface passed out on the hectoid carpet at some seedy casino (they give you free drinks, don’t they?). and maybe if they have that game with the little mechanical toy horses that race each other? hahahaha
Just that bus trip one. Don’t care for the others, either, except for going to Africa.
I have no desire to go to Vegas whatsoever, but Fred thinks we should on our transUSA trip next year…guess we’ll just have to wait and see for the outcome of that one…I guess I could drive through it maybe but not keen at all to drop any of my hard earned into that hell hole. It is pretty much everything I despise about the world in one place….Actually monaco might be worse? but at least Monaco is in a beautiful location. Maybe Vegas is fun when you get there, but I’d rather spend my time and money doing other things instead….Like going to Yellowstone or Yosemite!
I agree Cords I despised Vegas when I was there, I dunno if it’s because I traveled with the wrong crowd or what but it was all prostitution, gambling and booze. And so showy! It’s my least favourite place Ive been to in the US.

as for the crowd I was with… it was me my family (Im the oldest my sister was 20 my bro 17) and another family with much younger kids. It was horrible I felt bad for my cousins (the younger kids) having to be exposed to so much gambling, tits and booze in the way of MASSIVE billboards, walking through casinos etc. I didnt find it family friendly at all.

yeah I just hate the whole feeling that people go there just to be decadent, brag about how much money they wasted, how drunk they got and do other stuff they would never do at home. Something really arrogant, phony and insecure about that to me.
Meh well that wasn’t my experience at all!

It’s Sin City, it’s excess, it’s crass, its fantasy-land, that’s the point. It’s a city of a million folks with the 9th busiest airport in the world.

yep and my point is that I have a strong distaste for that point. I don’t like that point, and would prefer to spend my cash on some other point that is a little less into itself…but as I said, I may end up there anyway…
and since you ARE worldtripper, i’d fully expect you to have done a lot of those at least once? 
And it’s not my cup of tea either, I’d rather be 200 miles away disappearing into the High Sierra and sunning myself by a cold mountain lake. In fact, I’m ready to plop down some cash for a ticket to L.A.

Cords, Dark and I went to Vegas and it was the highlight of our trip and you know what? We only drank alcohol ONCE.
We didn’t gamble much at all unless we were walking through a casino to get outside and saw a texas hold em seat available.
We went for the shows and experiences and omg shopping!
You are missing out if you skip it. Not everyone has to party on like a moron in Vegas. Lots of families there etc. As oz said, buffets!!!

The accommodation is amazing and cheap. The service you get everywhere is just unreal.
Vegas would be the very first place I would go back to if I could go to America again.
If you don’t want to be surrounded by idiots, just go to Vegas between Sunday and Thursday. Much quieter/cheaper accom.
