Because overnight parking is not permitted at Perisher.

It is mainly due to snow clearing but it is in force all season long.

It doesn’t mean you cant, I have before and got my car snow’d in the middle of the carpark and they cleared around it. Surprisingly no ticket.

Then I did it again a few weeks later (on the side and no snow that night) and got a ticket. Which I made work pay for raspberry

They then gave me access to their overnight spot for the rest of my overnight employment there smile

Haha TJ

Last weekend I was there, on the Sunday morning (after heaps of snow) not only did a car have a ticket BUT the groomers had put all the snow around the car!!!

The Hotham groomers do that if you park your car where you shouldn’t.

Seen this car one weekend, they parked Friday, by Sunday with lots of snow there was a massive block of snow with a car in it.
The clearing guys had put about a meter of snow all around it, would of been a mission to dig out LOL

I really dont like the tube, wet, smelly and seems to take forever and if you don’t get a seat at the end of the day you hate life.  Got a 4wd, all parks pass and am happy to get up the hill early so no dramas for me.  Additionally if I want something from my car it’s easy, beats having to hire a locker for stuff and if I’m with my girlfriend and she gets tired she can sit in the car and watch a movie and drink red wine while I get 90mins unmolested guilt free riding time ha ha!  At the end of the day my boots are off straight away and I’m warm and dry in the car and back in Jindy before the tube has even got you to the bottom of the hill.

On top of that I have a hatred for public transport, if it’s not a plane I see no reason to travel with the general public!

Yea, by all means, your situation is good. I currently have 1 motorbike which I refuse to drive to the snow. None of my friends (outside of BW) have more than a 2wd and if you stay on the mountain for a weekend, then it will cost you the price for the pass anyways. I got my motorbike to avoid pub transport to and from work but at the same time, if it means I get to the snow, I will deal with the toob!

Sweet as. Guessing you are camping though? I’m sure you won’t miss us anyway, especially if you meet up with Kim / the mexicans etc.

Avatar

Yeah mate I will be in Jindy camping as per usual.  Will see everyone on the hill though I would expect.

Totally. Most likely, if you give us a call when you are leaving Jindy, we can meet you at the V8 for first lifts smile

I got the tube attached to my season pass for the times I can’t be fucked driving all the way up.

For those who camp, what do you do for food and how do you dry your clothes?

I think you’d be surprised how safe and theft free the camp grounds are. All the d**kheads are around the pubs and to/from their accom.

You can leave it outside your tent or just in your car. If you are only doing a weekend, it’s generally not too bad.

Food you can get at the woolies or just buy it with the money you are saving from no accom lol.
