Snowboard Goggles Best Peripheral Vision
I’m looking for snowboard goggles with the best peripheral vision, I used I/O last season and they alright side to side vision I mean but top to bottom there were a good amount of blind spots / areas blocked by the frames and foam.. So decided to pick up a pair of I/Ox bigger is not always better becasue they improved on the peripheral vision on top and side the bottom by the nose was blocked pretty much as much as the I/O. The other real downside to the I/Ox was that they do not work well with my Giro helmet they pinch the nose. So I started looking around and found a few, details below…
DYE T1 or CLK - Both look good but I’m worried how they will work with the helmet
Von Zipper John Jackson El Kabong - minimal frame design might help peripheral vision
Zeal Slate - looks like they opened up the lower part of the frame
Dragon APX - big so I’m worried about not working with the helmet, but other then they look good
All the above are interchangable which is what I really want, great to have in changing conditions and nighttime the park, but there is also one pair of goggle that I’m considering but they not interchangeable..
Giro Onset goggles - read alot about the main focus on these goggles was advanced tech in peripheral vision the only downside is not having interchangeable lenses
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated even if it’s a pair not on my list, great peripheral vision, interchangeable, and fit great well with a helmet, now I know the first piece of advise would be to go to a retailer and try them on the only problem is there is no single retailer that carries all these or keeps them all stocked.. So my other option is too buy like 2-3 from my online retailer and then pick the best ones.. But to do that I need to narrow it down to about 2-3

Give Electric EG2 a look in too
I use the Oakley Crowbar - Danny Kass model. They are big lens like the EG2 so you get more vision.
I’ll check both those out but bigger lenses also cause issues when fitting with a helmet perfect example I/Ox sweet as goggles but garbage with a helmet

my i/ox fit fine with a holt… how much more vision do you want?? most big goggles offer the same amount
My vote goes to VonZipper Fishbowl. They are awesome, super comfy and arguably the biggest field of vision. I have the EG2 and the Fishbowl and prefer the fishbowl.
hey man, agree with skip11! i have VZ Feenom’s and use them with a Giro helmet and they fit awesome and have great vision. I bought mine 2 years ago and never had any issues!
Fishbowls are similar to the feenoms from what i’ve seen, anyway recommend them!

The I/Ox were good when it came to the vision but they were pinching the hell out of my nose plus i had a big gap between the helmet and the goggles no matter how much i adjusted the helmet.
VonZipper Fishbowl look good, Ill definitely throw them in the mix, hows the Peripheral vision ? no issues?

What about top and bottom? thats where most of the blocking usaully happens well at least for me, now l know that top is hard to reduce blocking/blind spots because of the helmet but the bottom by the nose area thats something that can be expanded if a company knows what its doing.
Unless your nose is abnormally huge or broken or something you wont have problems with the Von Zippers, on my feenoms around the nose it actually has hardly any pressure and i sometimes wear a face mask and slide it into that little slot between the nose and the bottom of the goggles and have no problems.
As with the top and bottom vision there is no issue, looking straight ahead i can see the ground about 1m in front of me and the sky above me, in fact on the top i cant even see the foam of the goggles at all when looking straight ahead, hardly noticeable on the sides, and on the bottom i can see the foam but its not in the way or anything.
Best way your going to find out mate is just buy the goggles that seem the most appealing to you or go to a few diff stores if you have to (if you haven’t got stores near you, next time you go to the snow go and check out their range, im sure they’ll have a whole bunch) and try them on.
No issues there. The only small issue I have is since I have a small face, the goggle kinda put a little of pressure on my nose but it’s not a problem. I don’t notice it once I start riding.
