Packing Tips for Shred Trips!
Yeah I’m with Humdingaling here. I have the low roller and have fit about as much stuff as he has into it. I had it about on 23kg when I left Canada last season, which was the weight limit for the airline.
From memory the bag is quite a bit cheaper too.
The only problem is the time when ya want to take 2 or more boards!!!!!

I’ve done it! I have an Energi 165 wheelie bag and fit 2 boards, 2 bindings, 1 helmet, 2 sets of boots, 2 sets of outerwear, goggles, socks, thermals etc. It is usually right on the weight limit so sometimes I might have to shove some socks or something in my carry on, or wear a jacket and then shove it back in the bag on the way to oversize luggage, but never had any problems or extra charges!
Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I’ll get myself a low roller as I can only see myself travelling with one board in the near future. As it is I took 25kg to Japan and back so it would be tight with 23kg.
If I’ve read it correctly there is the option of purchasing extra baggage i.e 2 x 23kg for around $70 each way with air canada and I believe that may even be the default allocation with JAL. I couldn’t quite workout qantas but it looked pretty scary!
Overall from what I could tell if I needed over 23kg it was cheaper to take two seperate bags rather than one big bag.

Yeah, I took 2 complete sets to Whistler (mine + the bosses)!!!!!
You can do similar when travelin with a mate to save ya both payin for an extra bag, and even if ya only have 1 set in the high roller, its always good to know that ya have got the extra room incase ya buy/get given/steal a board while ya os!!!!!
I would def go the high roller, and avoid the old “wish I hadda” later on down the track!!!!!

meaning you didnt pack any clothing
jackets/pants are quite heavy
i recall my old sessions jacket weighing a 2-3 kgs 
i took my board(burton wheelie gig) bag with a full set of gear (plus some of the missus gear and my helmet) and clothes, toiletries etc. and it weighed in at 21 kg’s.
Just pack less clothes if your doing mostly riding. On the way home is another story (required another bag to fit all the clothes/snow gear i bought)
Okay so if I pull of the RTW jaunt over Christmas and NY I am thinking of not taking plank/s.
So I am looking for a good bag to take.
So one of those double decker things??

I am looking at the ones the ones that have been discussed here - like the dakine or burton bags.
The double decker ones. Snow gear in one section normal clothes in the other.
