I can vouch for YES Pick Your Line. That board is sick. I like that board way more than the greats (I tried this year’s). My favorite board that I’ve demoed along with Rossi One Magtek and Rossi Templar.
Isn’t the PYL quite a bit stiffer than the Greats?
Pick Your Line is really a big-mountain / all-mountain type board. I wouldn’t suggest it unless you really want to focus on riding big, fast lines. Not what you’re looking for.
The Greats rides great in pow. That’s what the CamRock profile is there for; rockered nose and tail equals float. This will handle any pow you will experience in Whistler. The Asym sidecut works really well. I rode the 2013 Greats in Whistler for a week last season. It basically just gives you a tighter heelside turn. Get it on edge and it turns really effectively.
Tragna Maction is a serrated/wavy edge. Basically gives you more edge hold in icy conditions.
The Basic is a solid board but extruded for next year as I mentioned. I wouldn’t use an extruded board in Whistler unless you’re tight on budget. Less wax absorption, slower and doesn’t hold momentum as well. Stick to a sintered base for Whistler.
My pick would be the Greats. One of the best all-round boards on the market in my opinion.

I’m in! size for me you thinking 154 for sure? or go with the 156 Pow and all? 5’6” at 165lbs also planning on the NOW bindings with this setup for practice and of course Whistler any objections ???

Haha, I sold him that board. What size did he buy again? 156? Has he tried it yet?
We will try to get as many YES demo boards there as possible. Still working it out but I’m sure it won’t be a problem.

I think the 154 will be more versatile but the 156 isn’t too big either. You might find the 156 a tad on the long side for everyday riding (park, playing around, groomers etc). I think the 154 will be fine in the pow though, and you could always set it back a notch if you want more float for really deep days. Personally I would go for the 154 but that’s me.
finney was riding the YES Tasman 154 (which is pretty much a Greats with limited edition graphics) all season in Whistler and he is very close to your weight. finney, what do you think? 154?
