Very interesting info graphic…

What about numbers of lifting - who win?
Which one worst wait at line - who lose tongue laugh

Very biased report there. If they took the averages then it might be more informative…

+ If you are from Australia, add in a min $300 aeroplane ticket and unless you get super lucky and find a cheap direct to queentown, a few hours in christchurch airport or an overnight stay.

If you are from Australia, a weekend trip to Perisher / Hotham is possible. NZ the plane ticket is too expensive to do a weekend so you need a week.

I went two years in a row, I have kinda decided that it’s a waste of time and money pre booking, yes it may be cheap for what you get in terms of flights, hire car and accom but over here I need none of those things.  My thought process now is I will wait till next year when that Helipark is reopened and then last minute a weekend over there based on snow and weather report and do 2 days of heli and then come home again.  Probably be a $2K weekend but that’s what I ended up spending all up doing 8 days there but this would probably be 10 times the snow and terrain quality.

falls creek 4 metres?? or do they mean over a whole season? I wish it meant the base was 4 metres!

Season. And this year Aus > NZ, most other seasons NZ > Aus

yeah its just a piece of crap anyway, not even worth discussing!

There are quite a few mountains with accommodation in NZ. Temple basin, Whakapapa, Snow park and some clubbies have accommodation on the hill. The 550 is not at Coronet Peak as they only have 280. TC and Whakapapa both have 550 hectares.

As an added bonus, Turoa also has the longest vertical run and longest chairlift.

and as another added bonus, NZ is frikken awesome with awesome people, great affordable food and hospitality, great coffee, good snow that comes from the sky not cannons, crazy terrain, views, nut-crackers, no wine quaffing richies in their “i skied Hotham in 1992” fleece vests….

should i keep going?

So your implying no resorts in Nz use snow guns…

Really?

Avatar

Don’t get me wrong, I love both. But if anyone from Australia thinks a weekend trip to NZ is possible for the same price as going to Perisher from Sydney, you gotta be dreaming!

Avatar

I dont think anyone said anything about it being the same price.
