you will progress super fast with everyone around to egg you on smile

How many days on snow on a board have you done?

yeah thats true Anti - last year was great, but man perisher is daunting on a board and we wont all be in the same place like Thredbo.

I am just linking my turns - I have done a lot of days on a board it is just that mental hurdle which is left!

I haven’t been there for 15+ years, but I seem to recall the unloading ramps for the lifts looked like Olympic ski jumps!

Guthega from the carpark is probably the hardest lift get-off that I’ve ever had.

Dont worry, Dark, myself and static will be staying on the easy stuff. Static has only done something like 2 or 3 days on a board.

This!

Surely you’ll get a chance to get some more practice in before the shred? It doesn’t take long to get to level where you can cruise pretty much the whole mountain.

If you’re already linking turns and you have great mountain/ski knowledge what exactly is worrying you? I’m sure we can help ease some of your fears.

I have to ski for my job - no practice time!

I don’t remember learning how to ski - so it is very frustrating for me.

I have had lots of opportunity to snowboard in years past (even tried to do it for boy!! LOL) just seem to have a mental block!

Yeah I was hoping you might get some spare time when not patrolling.

I think having others around that will push you (in a friendly way) will definitely help your riding and you might just burst through that mental block.

I only had around a weeks riding under my belt when I headed to Japan, on the 2nd day there I was chasing around Billy and a few other very good riders (one was a coach who gave me some very handy tips)

If you can skate/plow/link turns you’re pretty much set to ride most of the mountain, sure it won’t be quick and you won’t be doing anything fancy but your riding/confidence will rapidly improve.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Last year you were doing great. For most of us who are there on Thursday, we will have ridden for 3-4 days straight before you come and will have 3 days after to keep riding. We aren’t going to be in a rush!

And then point 2, start riding on a board and have your skis in the car. If you end up getting pissed off or left alone, it’s only a short walk back to the car to grab the skis and swap. You’ll need them for the weekend anyway. Leave them at Sundeck in my room if you need to and it shouldn’t take long to swap at lunch if you feel you are holding people up.
