Skiers are idiots - freestyle is NOT freeriding!!!

You failed to see the irony is criticising skiers lack of respect for snowboarders when here you are labelling all skiers ‘idiots’ (see title) and other derogatory terms. Unnecessary and immature imo.

What a crock of sanctimonious bullshit.

The act referring to “freestyle” as “freeriding” is blatant idiocy, especially when you’ve been informed of your mistake MANY times - making the skiers who do so, “idiots”. There’s nothing “ironic” in my pointing out that fact.

Respect has to be earned, and the skiers who deliberately choose to show disrespect to my sport, do NOT get my respect in return. There’s nothing “ironic” about responding to their actions in such a manner.

Inappropriately berating/belittling me regarding this point also makes you and TJ “idiots” - and, of course, hypocrites.

I think you care too much about something that doesn’t matter at all.

The thing is BJ, the fact that it “doesn’t matter at all” to you is irrelevant.

Sorry mate, you’re not making any friends with your constant belittling of forum members.

As 99% of the snowboarding industry still calls it Freestyle or Park riding, 1 perisher presenter getting it wrong (probably reading a script written by an idiot to start with) isn’t going to change what people say.

If (for some very unlikely reason) they do succeed in this super evil plan to change the name of Freestyle to Freeriding, I for one, won’t care and neither with the rest of the industry. I snowboard to have fun, not to make sure I get terms correct.

And then to change my name to BJ, good on you. You can join the rest of the hundreds of people who thought it would be a good insult over the 10+ years I have gone by the name TJ. Think of something original and I might be offended.

Face, meet palm.

. . . but evidently, belittling me and my opinions is perfectly acceptable to you and others on here.

Yep, you fell right in to that one. You just proved my point. Deny it all you like, but clearly my deliberately getting your name wrong DOES “matter”.

Hypocrite much?

^ “Unnecessary and immature IMO”.

Opinions are good it’s just how you express them

Yes, it’s sad, but true - that for many people in this petty, superficial society, the manner in which an opinion is expressed far outweighs the validity of the opinion itself. I have little time for such people.

I guess in a way it’s somewhat unfair to criticise the ski industry for butt-raping snowboarding - when so many snowboarders are pathetically comfortable with bending over and taking it willingly.

It’s pure ignorance to claim that nobody who matters will see the video and therefore it’s a non-issue, when Perisher’s Facebook page alone has over 40 thousand regular viewers - many of them newcomers to the sport - and even more ignorant to assume that someone in the media feeding the public false information is the same as just an average punter doing so.

TJ clearly fails to comprehend the fact that when someone repeats an erroneous statement enough times, to enough people, it has the very real potential to eventually become ‘truth’.

Of course, the fact that it’s “just Australia” is irrelevant - because to properly fix a problem, you have to fix ALL of it - and the best place to start is your own backyard.

But as usual, it’s all about self-serving apathy. TJ, for example, hypocritically claims it doesn’t matter when people deliberately get names wrong - and only gets all butt-hurt when someone deliberately gets HIS name wrong. Pathetic.

So was your response to my comment and your insult to my name. Video warranted.

I think the point here is that the issue you are bringing up is that 1 reporter in AUSTRALIA (the #1 snow destination in the world! *sarcasm*) says Free-riding and you are blowing it up like they changed the name of the event in the X-Games.

I (and others) don’t care because nobody who matters will see the video and it’s totally a non issue.
