Hi All,
Just wondering if some people could shed some light on how the 3CS jackets perform up in Canada (Scout/Erebus). Looking to purchase when I get up to Whistler but not if its cheaper to purchase back in Australia…
Cheers!
Whereabouts in Oz are you based? ESS in Erina on NSW central coast seems to have good deals on 3CS Jackets. Could ring them up and ask them prices and different models they have on sale.
Am sure there are heaps of other shops around that sell them too!
I’m in Brisbane and the range is pretty limited which is disappointing. Really love to buy Aus product, just want to make sure it will get me through whatever the Canadian season throws at me.
Get 10k or more and it will be fine.
If you get cold easily, get an insulated jacket.
I don’t get cold and boil in those things though.
its a snow jacket, it will be fine.
Just layer up and your good to go. And 3cs wont be cheaper overseas.
Generally, NZ and Aus have some of the wettest conditions when it comes to winter. 3cs was made with that in mind so they should more than stand up to Canadian winters where it tends to be drier. I had a 5k jacket and pants in Canada and never got wet once, of course it will depend on where you go (the further inland, the drier).
Not sure if this will be a lot of help for you but I have the 3CS pants 10k and they are amazing. Used them for one and half seasons in Switzerland. No issues at all and I will purchase another pair when these wear out. The jackets would be no different in quality.
I know a lot of riders in Whistler who wear 3CS gear all through the season. 3CS makes excellent quality outerwear and they perform to a very high standard. Some of their outerwear is up to 20K waterproof, which will hold up in the worst conditions. If you’re riding Whistler, I would get as much waterproofing as you can afford. 10K is standard, 15K is solid, 20K is what you want if you can afford it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I would definitely recommend you get some 3CS gear! I have a 30K jacket and 20K pants from 3CS. They’re good quality and have all the trimmings. I reckon they look sick too. I have used them in Whistler and Oz. They have held up great in all conditions, including rain.
Thanks all for the help. Hopefully be riding with a few of you up in Whistler this season!
The one store in whistler that stocks 3CS is evolution - small shop but I believe they’ll order it in if they don’t have it in stock.
