This just turned up yesterday, in time for snow trip this weekend with the boys!  It’s the Oakley Eero Ettala jacket.

The all white one I got was a bit big, flogged it to a mate and got this one as a replacement ha ha ha!  I think I like this one more too!  I’m back on the no spending wagon for a while I think.  Been on a bit of a binge, bought a couple of suits, some more business shirts and some shoes as well.  All of this I’m happy with, I wasn’t too happy about having to fork out $100 for two days board hire for my girl when I forgot to pack her board on the weekend.  Only slightly less happy than when I paid for a lift ticket for her on Saturday and she used the triple at Smiggins once the whole day, $200+ that I really didn’t need to spend.

I have however paid off one credit card and chopped it into small pieces which I sprinkled in the bin, one more to go, with any luck I can put that one to bed by Xmas or early next year.

I just don’t get the whole ‘tall’ clothing fad. It was lame enough when just skiers did it.

But I’m old.  downer

I’d be kind of worried that the bit hanging below my outerwear would eventually get wet and be cold the whole day especially if it’s made out of cotton.

But I’m short downer

Quite a few ppl on here seem to like it so I will keep this brief as I do not wish to offend but it’s fashion over function and a really really bad example of it, in what way does it assist anything to do with snowboarding?  I have the same reaction to tall clothing as I do when I see some kid wearing jeans so tight he’s retarding puberty, with weird coiffed hairdo, replica 1986 Oakley Frogskins and an emo down on the world expression plastered on his face; if you tried any harder to be cool you might win most improved award at the raging homo fashion design olympics. Sorry, that wasn’t particularly brief or inoffensive but I just couldn’t help myself.

The tall gear is kinda cool, but only to a point…it can definitely be over done….when the tall comes half-way down your thighs and heading towards the knees, it looks a bit ridiculous. Also, tall hoody with skinny pants is definitely not anything I’d call cool….but I’ve never been cool anyway.

The style you’re talking about, nthn, has never been something I’ve been particularly into, either, but I certainly wouldn’t think it had anything to do with masculinity or sexual preference…

The tall hoodies are functional in that on warm bluebird days, you don’t really need a waterproof jacket but having something that covers a good percentage of your butt helps to not get snow in your back etc. Most people I know who wear these don’t really stack it that much, and don’t sit down to strap in to their bindings, so aren’t really in too much danger of getting sopping wet.

I dont really want the tall hoodie for riding LOL just to keep my butt warm on cold days, especially with football season coming up haha
