Builders are usually putting the frame up the next day after the slab is done. Ours was left for 2 - 3 days.

I was speaking with a builder tonight and he said it is very common for them to still be pouring the slab and have a surveyor on site to mark out the already dry concrete for the trusses.

Apparently they use something in the concrete so it sets quicker. I dunno, but our frame we up slower than some others have around here. I have never in my life seen a slab set for 28 days.

let me guess, this builder builds project homes yeh?
They only make money if they pump out the homes as quick as possible, hence they cut corners in every facet of the build (i.e. not letting slab cure) leaving a far inferior product compared to a non project home builder. But they cost more so its really you get what you pay for.

I have seen a few slabs left for 28 days, like i said we go in after 2 weeks (14 days) but even then, we only stand frames and brace off pegs etc. Never dynabolt/ramset into green concrete. Its retarded to do that so early, you wont get any proper fixing and risk blowing out the edges of the slab.

I’m interested, Deano - what are the price differences on average? like do you pay $10k less to have a project home? or closer to $50K less?
