Winter Accommodation Reviews

Avatar

If you have stayed anywhere on snow/off snow (e.g Jindabyne) would be awesome for everyone to share and recommend. Would be good to know what’s good and where to avoid! Especially for visiting other mountains for the first time.

Accommodation: Perisher Manor
Type: Hotel
Location: Front Valley, next to the V8
Room type: Deluxe Resort - Slope View
Inclusions: Room, breakfast and dinner
Review: This hotel was great when we stayed in 2008. The room was very spacious, warm and clean. Hotel staff were extremely friendly throughout the hotel, bar and restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. Drinks at the bar were a little pricy, but that is to be expected on snow.

In our room we had a Queen bed, single bed and a sofa bed. We turned the sofa bed around to face the window and we happily sat there watching beginners struggle on Front Valley!

The hotel had a drying room with lockers for guests to use, as well as change rooms with showers downstairs for guests to use before/after a long day on the slopes. Also had luggage storage for early arrivals/late depatures.

The internet cafe didn’t even work which was a little disappointing, but it was early season and I am sure they would have worked it out in the end.

Also I know that a lot of people don’t rate The River Inn but I have stayed there twice now and can’t fault it.

i am not sure, my friends dad is a member, but i think you can book it if you are not a member as long as the dates you want are free.
