Yep, Kelpies are awesome. Chilli is a Kelpie x Border Collie. He has so much energy and such a good nature. He plays with my 6-month-old nephew and he is so gentle around him.

Does Chilli have lots of space, Jeremy?

We both really want a Kelpie, but we’re worried it’ll need more space to run. We don’t have a tiny yard, but at the same time it’s not huge either.

Some people we speak to say they need heaps of room, while others say their Kelpie will happily chill out in the yard until they get home.

We’d walk it every night when we get home to make sure it gets exercise.

my friends have 2 kelpies, ther yard isnt massive, fairly small/medium.

the key is to make sure you walk them daily if your yard is smallish.
And not just small walks,

Good if ya got some bushland or a quiet beach nearby!!!!!

My Bully used to love goin up the bush!!!!! She’d run amok for hours!!!!!

my dog barney is a kelpiexborder collie and he is the nicest dog we ever had. we got him from the rspca. he had been abused a shitload by a farmer in dubbo. I guess he wasnt a committed sheep dog. He loves his walks but man does he dig. we really got a digger. . .

How could you hit this little guy . .

We don’t have a big yard but we live right on a park. The thing is, even if Chilli has a big park to run in, he just chills and waits for me. He wants to play, it’s what he lives for. He is such a loyal dog. He will just lie down, staring at me and waiting patiently. All he wants to do is chase something or play soccer with me. He needs a lot of exercise, he can seriously run for hours. Walks don’t seem to take any energy away haha. Awesome dogs but yeh, they need to run and chase and go for adventures. Best dog, I wouldn’t have him any other way.

I wouldn’t mind a Bullshit (Bulldog x Shitzu) hehehe .... right now we’ve got a Maltese x Shitzu which we call a ‘Fluffy Shit” but its not quite the same thing really….

Awwww that’s awesome. Just hanging out like buddies.

I can’t wait to have kids that can grow up with the dog.

We’ve been talking about dogs a fair bit over the last few days. I think we’re now leaning towards a Siberian Husky.
