It’s a design issue no doubt.

Really you should never buy a board for the graphic on it. It’s not like you buy a 8” skateboard when you ride a 7.5” for example just because one has a dog on it rather than a cat. It’s more like you go for the company you respect and like then the board size and thirdly you look in to the graphic.

The design is always subjective to the buyers taste. My mate rides a board with a big cigarette on it, its possibly the shittest graphic ever but its the best powder board he has ridden so he loves it.

Different strokes for different folks. I personally love the graphics and if I could get some models for art pieces I would even if it was just a print out not the board.

Don’t worry about me. I can’t draw or design so I have to write something smile

There is a lot of boards with designs which are under the bindings. Designers aren’t going to put two big circles where your bindings go. It’s some thing to think about though when making your design.

Lib Teach is a prime example which the Travis Rich pro model has an amazing graphic on it every year. The design is always centered with no regard for the bindings but it’s still dope.

True…but if I was buying a board for the graphic alone, I would get a board that I could see the graphic on. If the bindings cover the best part or an important part of the design, it defeats the purpose. if you were going to use it as a wall hanging it would make sense. Travis rices 2012 model…I wouldn’t say the bindings cover too much important stuff, for example if a board has a figure of a person or character on it and the binding would cover the whole head….that it was i mean.

It’s a design issue no doubt.

Thats true normally, but this isnt about buying a board. it’s about designing the graphics on a board. And as such i feel it needs to be designed in such a way that the “hero” of the graphic is not covered by a set of bindings once attached. We arent picking a winner based on board characteristics, its purely on the graphic.

agreed with deano. I’ve managed to own a board that met all the requirements for both its graphic design and riding performance. Loved it.

my first board purchase was purely on the graphics, luckily it was also what i needed in terms of a board and lasted me many moons. Its still my altime fave graphic and would love to see it re-released with newer tech in it

My Scallywag demo ride was because of the graphic and once I’d tried it I bought it!

Yea, can’t go wrong with a GNU. Everyone that has ridden my Scallywag has loved it apart from my brother who loves the Flow Quantum board which is as stiff as a plank of wood.

graphic is dogshit thats for sure!

Haha I don’t mind the graphic. Though I wouldn’t have bought the board myself but then again it’s not my kind of board. Too stiff

This is my first entry. Not completely happy with it. Not exactly how I planned it turning out. But had minimal time to work on it and wont have any more time before first entrys end, so this will do!
I call it the (Gettin) High Fyve
Feedback is more than welcome as I may just do another version of this for my second design.
