Crayoning flouro wax

Avatar

Hi guys, I’ve just finished my first ever hot wax on my snowboard and the kit I got came with a small block of universal flouro wax which I thought I might as well wack on over the other wax for the heck of it.

Just wondering though ... I was planning to just crayon some down both sides of the base but I’m a bit dodge about ironing it in because of the fumes.

Do you have to iron it in or can you just soften it by touching it on the iron and crayon it in is that enough?? And then obviously scraping it off like the hot wax.

Thanks again

you need to iron the base to heat it up to open up the “pores” in the base to allow the wax to penetrate. you can just rub it on if you wish but it wont be nearly as effective/last anywhere near as long.

needs to be ironed on for the reason dean mentioned. If you are worried about fumes. Just wear a cheap face mask. Get from a hardwear store. And also do it in a ventilated room, for example, your bathroom with the fan on. Or just do it outside

Just do it in the garage, backyard.

Unless it’s a rub on paste wax, then ya gotta iron it in mate!!!!!

Take it outside or use a mask!!!!! If ya wax starts to smoke turn ya iron down!!!!! (Some waxes will have a temp guide on the box)

Just make sure ya let it cool for a couple hours before ya scrape!!!!! Then buff!!!!!

You can also cork it in but this isn’t as effective as ironing. Open a window and make sure it’s well ventilated. Turn the temperature of the iron down a bit to ensure it doesn’t smoke. Window open, no smoke… you should be fine. smile
