The BOARDWORLD Forums ran from 2009 to 2021 and are now closed and viewable here as an archive
Maybe only tempered by the fact that putting bindings on it would cover some of the important bits.
For me, alot of these boards fail in this regard and as such (in my opinion) i dont think they will/should win.
I’m not doubting they are wicked looking designs, i love a fair few of them, but to be a fluid snowboard design you need to be able to see the hero of the design once bindings are put on.
I think your right. whats the point of having a great design if you can’t see it?
Yeah you can have great art on a snowboard, or great snowboard art .... 2 different things imo
Quick question!?
....now I have two designs, am I allowed to make adjustments to my first one for re submission?Edit: so I just realised I’m a few days early for the second design submission so I will retract my first design and then re submit the touch ups I do to it after the 15th….that’s right yeah!
That’s fine. Your most recent submission will be counted as your first entry. We will eliminate the first design you submitted. You can submit a second design after the July 15th deadline.
Hi, are you allowed to post a design with two different color ways together, as I think both colors work really well?
Please reply ASAP!
Thanks
You can post both (one for submission, one for viewing only) but you will need to choose which one is submitted as your official entry.
There is a lot of boards with designs which are under the bindings. Designers aren’t going to put two big circles where your bindings go. It’s some thing to think about though when making your design.
Lib Teach is a prime example which the Travis Rich pro model has an amazing graphic on it every year. The design is always centered with no regard for the bindings but it’s still dope.

True…but if I was buying a board for the graphic alone, I would get a board that I could see the graphic on. If the bindings cover the best part or an important part of the design, it defeats the purpose. if you were going to use it as a wall hanging it would make sense. Travis rices 2012 model…I wouldn’t say the bindings cover too much important stuff, for example if a board has a figure of a person or character on it and the binding would cover the whole head….that it was i mean.

It’s a design issue no doubt.
Really you should never buy a board for the graphic on it. It’s not like you buy a 8” skateboard when you ride a 7.5” for example just because one has a dog on it rather than a cat. It’s more like you go for the company you respect and like then the board size and thirdly you look in to the graphic.
The design is always subjective to the buyers taste. My mate rides a board with a big cigarette on it, its possibly the shittest graphic ever but its the best powder board he has ridden so he loves it.
Different strokes for different folks. I personally love the graphics and if I could get some models for art pieces I would even if it was just a print out not the board.

Hahaha, I like it.
Who knows what you were thinking, but who cares. Its rad
haha I like that one, too!
Well it got some people laughing and that was the aim of the game! :D
Got a sneaking suspicion that my 2nd entry will be much darker, but a long time to work on that.

Oh too easy. I just need to fix some pieces on it so that’s good I have some time haha
KIRST OHH
Thats sick, though can someone resize for the forum?
Edit: I think it was better without the goggles… or at least blur the goggles in a bit more…
Ok so I have also jumped on the “Can I change my first entry bandwagon”
I would like to submit this is my new first entry please.
