Ripstick for beginner riders

I don’t think you are supposed to trick on them. I was just being uncoordinated lol.

Ripstick ollies can be done, but not by me:  ollie

Main thing with them is that they get the kids to get the idea of independent foot movements while turning etc.  ollie

I just watched a few videos and I’m pretty keen to give one a try. I like the idea of not having to push all the time. haha

hehehe, but don’t think they’re effortless. Try powering uphill and its actually a pretty good core workout.

after seeing this thread

picked one up 2nd hand for the misses to try out (she is a two trip magic carpet veteran now!)
worth a try for 20 bucks LOL

any improvement gained off of the snow = better day on the slopes and at 20 bucks its well worth it IMO

will see if any vast improvement at the snows this season

haha definitely. Let us know how she goes! If I see one cheap 2nd hand, I might give it a whirl - if I hate it, I’ll just palm it off to my niece and nephew.

I picked up a brand new one from a market at the gold coast (not ripstick brad) but it was only 20 and well worth it. however i upgraded to a freebord and it’s a million times better.

Freeboard is a lot more expensive and requires a hill of sorts
but do agree it gives much closer feel to snowboarding than ripstik ever will
