Mint Snowboard Coaching

Avatar

Hey all,

I’m going to be in Cardrona NZ in a couple of months (across the valley from Snow Park) and was wondering if anyone has experience with the Mint Snowboard Coaching there?

Was thinking about heading over for a day or so for something different and also cause I’ve never been to Snow Park.

Thanks for the feedback.

if you want a lesson, get one at snow park. They are cheap and the dudes really know their stuff. Everyone thinks you have to be really good to go and ride there, but you really don’t. We took a friend for her 2nd day on a snowboard there and she loved it. She ended up with a private lesson for a crazy good price (was sposed to be a group one but there was no one else so she got a private one for $10 extra or something?) and she had the time of her life.

Nice. Yeah at Cardies if you are the only one for a lesson they will only give you one hour instead of 2 which isn’t really enough time for anything much.

I’ve got a season pass for Cardies though so I’d have to spend the extra for a lift pass at Snow Park to but I think I might have to give it a go for the experience alone.
Thanks cords.

I am a wee bit bias. Snow Park is my fave place in the world. I’m no good, but I just love it there. Laid back vibe, no lift lines (longest I’ve ever waited is prob 1 minute?) super fun features you can progress on and cheaper than the other resorts.

Cardies is also sweet, but its definitely worth heading over the valley for a day. If you get a bad weather day, check to make sure snow park isn’t still open. My first trip there, we rode there 2 days in fine weather, when cardies was closed for bad weather…no guarantees of course but worth checking out. If you look on their facebook in the morning, they usually say weather they will be open.

have fun! Its my first year in 3 years that I won’t be heading over, cos of uni commitments - I’m going to miss it!

Good tip ... thanks heaps Cords.

They now have lift passes that cover you for both Cardies and Snow Park and a few others all in one but I had already bought a Cardies season pass at the early bird discount.

I’ve got my 9yr old now getting started into freestyle (straight air grabs) and my 7yr old will be on a board for the first time this season and I know he won’t be far behind so I’m pretty sure I know where they are going to want to start heading to!! Of course I think I’ll be more than happy to oblige them!

Love the baby shredders!!

hahaha sounds awesome! I have some friends who’ve already had their 3 and 5 year olds on boards this season & the kids absolutely love it!

You will have a blast in NZ - best place!

Hey guys,

This is Jarred from Mint Tours and we are running our Mint Snowboard Coaching at Snow Park this winter.  Its a new product for us in NZ and comes off the back of our successful snowboard coaching days we do in Niseko, Japan.

Our head coach in NZ is Dave Pearse who is also our coach in Niseko.  He is a full-cert NZSIA snowboard coach, manages Alta Snowboard Shop in Queenstown and is also the NZ Ride snowboards rep… plus a really good bloke!

We also have NZ pro-rider Nick Brown as our secondary coach for this winter.  If you’ve ever seen him ride you will know he’s one of the best riders not only in NZ but the Southern Hemi.

We only do full day snowboard coaching (minimum 6 hours at Snow Park) and we reckon its super good value especially if you have a group as you spread the cost across all your mates.

Here is the pricing in AUD:

1 person – $ 300 per person
2 person – $ 165 per person
3 person – $ 120 per person
4 person – $ 95 per person
5 person – $ 82 per person
6 person – $ 74 per person

Happy to answer any other questions you guys might have?

Cheers
Jarred
