Compression Vs Thermal Gear

Avatar

hey guys,

Whats your thoughts on using compression gear over normal Thermals. I’ve been looking around and i find that using compression gear while freebording makes me feel more balanced but i don’t know if it’s going to constrict me to much. *Removed*

Any Idea where i can get cheap Stuff in aus that isn’t torpedo7 lol.

I’m thinking about getting some stuff but wanted to get your thoughts when wearing the gear in -0 temps lol.

Dude, in support of Aussie snow retailers, we don’t encourage posting links to overseas online companies.

yeah I actually have a related question to this…I recently bought my first compression gear (just the cheap aldi stuff) and like the feel of it but have found that it is terrible at wicking away sweat. I’ve used it mostly on freezing nights playing soccer and have found that i can feel my sweat turning cold pretty damn quickly once I stop playing and even with jacket and pants over the top, I get cold really quickly.

Can someone tell me if the more expensive brands like skins/2xu/Body science or whatever are any better??

I don’t ever remember getting cold from my sweat like that after snowboarding wearing my regular kathmandu polypro thermals…

Good point… i never thought of that.

Last thing you want is to get snow stuck down there to…

I have a set of NIKE Compression Thermals that work sweet!!!!! Wore them down here in OZ along with over in Whistler as well!!!!!

Ya can get them at Rebel/A Mart etc etc!!!!! They were about $40-$50 a piece on sale at Rebel!!!!!

NIKE Combat somethin or other, pretty sure they are called?????

so they wick well?

Yeah!!!!!

I was skeptical on the claim that they would be any good for either, as they look like a thin rashy!!!!!

But they actually work great!!!!!

I used SKINS, I use the snow specific stuff that has a brushed fleecy feel to it.

You can regularly get it cheap from their website and when Rebel have a sale. Someone on here sent me to their site. http://www.skins.net/en-AU/index.aspx

Re the sweat - it is not something i ever noticed until Japan in Feb. One day I was sitting in front of the fire freezing cold and couldn’t understand it. I then figured out it was cause of my sweat!

The next day I wore my Kathmandu thermals over my skins and that helped wick away the moisture from the skins.

When i first started shopping around for SKINS there was 3 categories. Normal SKINS, Snow SKINS (which i got) and then Thermal SKINS. I got the snow ones. But now knowing what i know is suspect I should have got the Thermal ones. They will be the next ones I get.

Myself and Dark swear by Under Armour. We stocked up on the stuff at their store in Vegas. The only place I have found it in Aus is Rebel Sport and they charge 2 - 3 x the price from the US. So sorry I can’t be of much help as to where to get it, but it is awesome!!!

i buy under armour gear from an aussie guy off ebay, and also grabbed some stuff from their Vegas store when i was there.

Shit is awesome.

whats the point of snow skins if they don’t wick away sweat?

LOL I have so much UA it isn’t funny! Aside from tee’s, singlets, shorts, shoes and hoods, I have:

Heat gear: Long sleeve white, long sleeve black x 2, short sleeve black, short sleeve white.
Cold gear: Long sleeve white, long sleeve black.

I have never tried 2XU or Nike though
