Edges help?!!
We have an edge tuning tool so will work on it.
You can NOT ‘repair’ that which has been removed. In other words, a deliberately blunted edge can NOT be sharpened without the removal of a corresponding amount of edge from your entire board! Fix just the ruined sections, and your edge will no longer be even.
Oh, and if you bought you board from a shop, and the shop guy made a mess of it - you have the right to a replacement.
Or a refund!!!!!
I would be returning to the shop and identifying the responsible attendant who did the detune. Ask if they are a certified ski-technician and ask to speak to a manager or the owner.
A detune only takes two or three swipes of a file.
Of interest how long did they work on your board? Is it really brand new?

Best thing you can do is take it to a proper snowboard tuning place with a grinding machine and get a base fill and grind/full tune. they should put a thin layer of p-tex over the base and fill in any holes then they will basically take of a thin layer off the base of your board and then he should wax it for you, this will resharpen your edges and also give you a second life to the board. There is one of those shops in perisher downstairs near the rental centre called adi’s which is one of the better ones, also first tracks in jindabyne have a base grinder.
I did it to my 3 year old board this year and it came up looking brand new, got rid of my holes and gave me some nice sharp edges. then you can get them to give it a proper de-tune, starting an inch or 2 back from the start of the nose and tail curve.
true but He shouldn’t have to give a new lease of life to a brand new board.

Sure, that’s one ‘solution’. However, it can cost a lot, AND it shortens the life of the board. You’d be surprised how much base material you’ve got to grind in conjunction with sharpening deliberately rounded edges. I’d take the board back to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
Problem is the board was bought in July last yr, was ridden for one day before the issue was discovered. We don’t have the receipt either since it was that long ago…

i rode my board “factory” tuned for a couple of weekends at the start of the season then nthn told me i should de tune the very tip and tail bits or the rail abit, he did it for me a little and it made a difference. then after a weekend on that i got even more eager, got the file out and rounded about the first and last 2.5 inches of metal edge on both sides, LOVE IT. still have great edge control and the boards so much more playful, easier to flat base and catch free.
This probably hasnt helped you at all, but i just wanted to share haha, id say take it to a board store and see what they have to say
