Burton joystick channel binding mounting system

Avatar

Hey all,

What’s the deal with the channel technology for mounting bindings on the old Burton joystick?
https://www.boardworld.com.au/snowboarding/content/category/burton-snowboards-mens-2010/

Was this a crappy technology? Are there universal mounting disks for this board??

Cheers,

Pretty sure all those boards come with universal mounting discs.

No Burton boards “come with universal mounting discs” (some Burton bindings now do, though) - but some stores had them available to give away (like they were supposed to) if you asked, and some dodgy stores sold them (even though it clearly said on the packaging they were supposed to be free).

It’s the same technology they’re using now, just a slightly different size.

There are some available for purchase. It depends on your bindings.

True, I just looked that up. I think it was just the NZ distributor sending them out with universal discs. We have one up at TC with burton universal mounts. It appears you can also turn your bindings disc 45 degrees and use two screws, although that’s less than ideal if you plan on anything more than beginner riding.

I have two boards with EST, no complaints from me.

I love the feel of being closer to the board. I took the foam footbed thing out even so I can stand direct on the deck.

Feels like riding a skateboard smile

What bindings?

Flux TT30’s and oldish Burton Customs

I hear that Burton ‘retro discs’ will fit in Flux bindings. Can anyone confirm?

Obviously, they’ll also fit in your old Customs.

chucky, I don’t believe the Burton discs will work for Flux bindings. I might be wrong but I’m fairly sure they don’t work. I’m almost positive I’ve tried this before.

anti, you should be able to get a Burton Channel disc for your Customs, no problem. Let me know if you need help tracking some down.

For your Flux bindings (if the Burton disc doesn’t work as I suspect it doesn’t), you will need a Flux Channel disc. Available at Balmoral Boards for $20 here.
