The new array of Ride bindings look pretty sweet. I’ve never really been in Ride bindings before, always thought they were similar to K2 - don’t they come out of the same factories? The Canted foot beds look interesting especially in the Maestro - swappable footbeds. Not interested in the contraband but the others are worth looking into.

@Gamblor - yeah I suspect it’s the Burton highback giving me grief. I have ridden on friends’ boards with burton bindings from mission to customs to cartels but they all hurt the same. And yes I have dialed the forward lean right back to zero and no it doesn’t help. The Genesis Hammock looks like it would be pretty comfy, obviously Burton have heard feedback on their highbacks and decided to do something about the comfort. It does look like they’ll fall apart easily though, I would have to have a closer look.

@SamNZ - going for flux bindings again would be the easy option, I’d probably go for SF45 or the RK again, just wanna see what else is out there.

Also check out the Rome 390 boss if you’re interested in the cantering.

This i love, i have 2 degree cantbeds in my bindings ATM, comes with 1 degree, 2 degree and 3 degree i think (havent opened my box in a long time)

They look sick dude. Are those heel cups fully attached now? That was the only reason I had to get new bindings - The screw holes on my heel cup had become stretched after 7 seasons and my heelcup could move up and down about half an inch.

Wow 7 years huh?  That would seem like a long lasting binding!  Na as you can see in this pic

the heel cup is still attached by a screw on either side at the back and another two at the front on either side like in this pic.  This also shows the size of the mini disc baseplate they use in these bindings which is compatible with Burton EST straight out of the packet.

This it would seem is to allow fore and aft movement of the heel cup on the base plate, you should be able to see the notches on the inside of the heel cup screw

This shot gives you a good squiz at the ratchets and the other side adjustment for the heel cup.

Looking forward to setting these up for my boots and putting em on my T Rice, the old EX’s are going to be left on my banana I reckon if I feel the need to go butter up ha ha!

My first bindings were ride VXNs and they were awesome. I think I had them for 3-4 years before they started to wear out.

Ride bindings last for ever!

Yeah mate, that heel cup is still a lot more attached than mine were. That design looks a lot better than what they used to be.

These were my bindings

As you can see the entire heel cup is removable form the rest of the binding. It’s held together on ether side by 2 screws. It was a common problem that ride had with those screws becoming loose and the heel cup moving (actually the only problem I’ve ever heard about from Ride bindings)

I had to tighten my screws at least 3 times a day or they would loosen too much and fall out. And just tightening them didn’t stop the heelcup movement. I still have them, and if I could get the same model again brand new I would.

They’re a nice looking binding even now Sam, I do see what you’re saying regarding the heel cup though, apparentley a bit of loctite is a good thing with such issues!

They sure don’t look that nice anymore! Loctite won’t help - at least not for my pair. The actual holes for the screws have stretched due to the punishment dealt to them over the years. I doubt you’ll have that problem though, I hope their new bindings withstand the same abuse - they sure look a lot stronger.
