Not sure why but I have never had to skate from mid station back down to front valley, yes it is pretty flat but just carry some speed or wax your board more regularly, I don’t remember it being that bad! Deano a mate of mine last year actually started bleeding from his butt from landing on one cheek and pulling it so far away from the other, heavy but I was pissing myself laughing, that’s what mates are for I guess.
It’s normally when you get cut off or you are a beginner. I don’t normally stop but on slow snow or when I get cut off, sometimes you don’t get a choice :(

I don’t usually stop either but back in my youthful days when I weighed 50kgs and bases werent lightning fast sintered demons, a good head wind (or a TJ said someone cutting you off) and its easy enough to come to a stop. Sadly I don’t have such issues these days and have PLENTY of momentum
Seem to remember having to skate back in the day.
I guess being around 110kgs and a sintered base might be the reason I make it and perhaps why ppl don’t get in the way…..............
No one likes being taken out by an express train i guess haha
