Six Degrees Of Separation
Use the name in the post before you and how it randomly relates to someone you know. Known (famous or celebrities etc)
I came up with this after A photo on Wilfred was posted on fb, someone commented and I randomly mentioned that I know Dave Fields - actor that plays Wllfred’s dad “Oak-Hungry Thirsty add”
SO;
DAVID FIELDS
(actor director - was the gnarly guy in Two Hands, also Wilfreds Dad, Hungry/Thirsty TVC) I used to live in same area, kids are same age as mine.
DEBORAH MAILMAN
(aboriginal actress - probably most famous for her role as Kelly in the Secret Life of Us). She lives in the same area as David Field and I’ve delivered packages (when contracting for Aus Post) to both of them….p.s. spaz - david was also in Chopper!
No way! I didn’t know Deborah lived round those parts. There are a lot of Very famous people living simple, normal lives in the area.
Her most famous roll was of course Play School (Miss Helena once saw me in the magic mirror)
6dos from Deborah is tough so it’s gonna remain location - Christine Anu also lives on this coast (or did a few years ago)
Yeah she’s a regular at coledale cafe….and so daft of me to forget play school! Mirando otto used to live down there I think and Anh Do does at the moment apparently - was crackers that said he served him at his pub a few times.
Most important person I ever served in the area was the owner of the WIN network. His assistant phoned all the best restaurants in wollongong one Sunday night to find one that was empty. Then booked it solid so no-one else would be there while they ate - it was just for the 2 of them. I got a decent tip (not massive) but he was keen to chat with me after they ate for around 20 mins. Told me it was the best service he’d had in Australia!!! We talked about what constitutes good service and the different buisness he had worked in (without prying). Later his assistant phoned to tell us how much he enjoyed the food. I didn’t treat him any different to the average joe - I even asked him to allow a couple to dine while they were there (sat them at the furthest table from him). Samuels Restaurant 2008
Friday night had a patron at Lacueva (bar behind Gringo’s-also being called Thirroul Night Club locally), trying to tell me to give a particular customer free drinks because he is the richest person in the area - I frankly laughed at her and pointed out that $20mil a year is far from the richest person in the area and that treating a person that way is very poor service. Had this happen a few times.
She later tried to get someone past the doorman who was wearing thongs saying he was Tim Bailly, when told, I rushed out and chased the guy to the Train Station - it wasn’t Tim (whom I’ve met many times). The woman has been in discussion with Lacueva’s owner regarding PR, I later cut her off and was taking drinks out of her hand, the “richest guy in the area” was relieved that I wouldn’t let her drink or climb onto the bar for guys to do body shots off. Poor “richest man in the area”. Oh, I charged him full price for all his drinks and wouldn’t let him buy drinks for the PR chick, was very firm with him.
