Macaronis lived up to the hype on Day 1 of the Rip Curl Pro Mentawai. The most fun lefthander in the world delivered a veritable highlight reel of surfing action during Men’s Rounds 1 & 2 and Women’s Round 1.

DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Big scores, close calls, and intense action was the order of the day on Day 2 of the 2012 Rip Curl Pro Mentawai, as the top seeds went head-to-head and traded blows in what could only be described as the best competitive action ever seen at a Coca-Cola ISC / ASC event. THE FINALS

In a championship battle between the best regularfooter of the event and the best goofyfooter of the event, Lee Wilson (Bali) defeated Garut Widiarta (Bali) to claim the inaugural Rip Curl Pro Mentawai in pumping 3-to-4-foot waves at Macaronis.

In the Women’s Final, it was Michaela Partin (USA) who took first place, narrowly defeating runner-up Brenda Lee (Malaysia) by a fraction of a point.
