Hey guys,
We are soon starting filming of the Boardworld instructional surf video series. We will actually be filming in France with an awesome crew. The production level should be very high.
At this stage we are looking to film a 10 part series.
Just want to get your thoughts on what content these 10 videos should cover.
We want to start with the very basics then progress from there.
What do you guys think?
duckdiving, eskimo roll techniques. all beginners struggle to paddle out and you should make sure it tells them that they should NOT bail their board as it is a big safety issue. Even soft-tops can cause injuries!
There is others but I’ll write them later…gotta finish my last uni assignment for the semester…shouldn’t have logged on at all!
Nice! So glad the pressure is off me.
Get back to work, cords. Haha
We’re filming with the guys at Knack Studios. They do great work.

This would be fantastic! I really think the bulk of the lessons should be based around things that come before a bottom turn.
A few things off the top of my head in no particular order.
Analysing the surf (Picking the rips, where to paddle out, where to take off, Onshore vs offshore, lefts/rights/closeouts, swell directions etc)
Positioning on board (Paddling-Popup)
Paddling technique
Duckdiving (getting through the breaking waves)
Surf Etiquette
Picking a wave/paddling/take off/Popping Up
Angling down the face of the wave
Maintaining/Building speed
Bottom Turns
We might be able to condense those a little bit, making space for a couple of slightly more advanced videos towards the end of the series. Thanks for the great suggestions!
How to look sexy walkin with your board and pick up babes that are watchin on the beach
^this is my primary concern in regards to surfing!
as a 1-lesson surf n00b, I’m all for it! Covering safety might be good, too.
Do you still have my email from 18months ago?
There were a few suggestions there?
Shaun White sure looks a lot like (Geelong AFL player) Cameron Ling
