Avatar

HI Guys,

I just bought a snowboard from amazon. Burton Custom flying v 158, How ever they are saying that they don’t have that board in stock they only have the WIDE. Do you guys think the wide will be ok?

Here are my details.

Height: 190cm
Weight: 82KG
foot size: 10.5 US

Sorry for the rush i don’t know how long it’s going to be on sale…

i got it for $350 with burton medium cartel bindings for $200

I wouldn’t get a wide board if you didn’t have to. Wide boards are made for dudes with size 12,13 kinda feet. I wouldn’t get it.

Thanks for the advice. I’m kind of upset that they screwed me over. I got Super excited because it was my perfect setup.

Would you recommend anything else? i really want a good deal cause i’m kinda tight on cash lol but don’t want to sacrifice to much.

Hey mate,

It’s wider than you need. Personally, I wouldn’t get it.

Advice: buy the snowboard in Australia. There is a huge range in stock now and lots of great sale items from last season also. I can get you a Custom 158 from STM for $420 (40% discount), including warranty which you wouldn’t get if purchasing overseas. This will also include shipping if required. Plus your supporting the Australian snowboarding industry.

Let me know if you want to discuss options. smile

i’m more than happy to help out the aussie industry. I just couldn’t go past the deal i got. I really liked the look of the board i purchased online.

I guess, the crap thing is i live in Brisbane and we have one super average shop that sells average Burton stuff that are rrp….

I really like the look of the flying v i think it will suit me quite well. I got a snowbaord package offered to me for a store in SA, it was a

custom (normal) 2011 158 for $450
custom medium 2011 bindings for $210
burton bag for $80

i guess i can bite the bullet and spend that kinda money to get older stuff. Where should we discuss options?

First i have heard of that…

Yeah i was quite surprised to, shipping was only $50 thats why i jumped on it. But they said there was a stock error and it was wide… sad.

Have they confirmed they ship Burton to AUST?

Yes, which is a clear violation i know lol.

Sigh i think i might just get the snowboard from the other shop in SA, unless rider thinks this stm place is good.

Haha they have one weird guy that works there from time to time but if you can avoid him STM is definitely good

It seems like a pretty good deal rider has lined up for you considering it’s a local price.

That really surprises me. Burton will not allow international stores to ship to Australia. I have no doubt they will be onto it very soon.

I can’t really afford that much, hell I can’t really affordwhat I tried to buy. If they can do it for 450 or close to I’ll buy it. Obviously I need bindings and stuff but I don’t think they would do 200 for new bindings. If not I guess I’ll have to go with the guys in sa as I already have a gift card with them. Thanks heaps for the support it’s been a very stressful time… It’s supposed to be fun…
