anyone know possibly why my youtube embed code, and the vimeo one in my post above wouldnt be working?

Fixed the embed for you. Click edit and you can see how I did it. You only need the string ID between the vimeo and youtube tags.

Steve Murphy just filmed a spot check for us at Frankston and there’s another one on the way for Croydon. Love his work.

Cheers ARLS, to be honest it wasn’t my favourite photo but I’m happy that the judges enjoyed it.

Anyway, here is a photo from a little while ago that I was debating whether or not to upload here. I like the composition I suppose, but the lighting is a little off what I was hoping for, which someone will likely point out and that’s fine. Could possibly have worked better with just the one flash.

Backtail - Mikey Mieruszynski.

Sick composition! haha but yeah, I can see what you mean by the lighting, still a radical image.

So I’m still learning the magical world of flash slaves and had some of our local rippers pull some ridiculous moves for the camera, hope you enjoy.

Beaglee! Good stuff man!

One thing I could recommend that applies to the first two photos is to get just that little bit lower and get the skater into that empty bit of sky. The second photo in particular would literally be perfect if you had that going on, it’s still really, really good. Honestly the third ones angle/comp/timing is incredibly awesome. Ultimate props.

Haha cheers man! Appreciate it.

Yeah I realised that when I got them up on the computer, I was like shit, I should of shifted over to the left more…
That second one was hard to get him in the right spot because he was constantly in different spots, still looks fairly sick though.
Super stoked on the third haha I copped a board to the leg, but it was worth it when he got it!

And I just realised, I shot two other photos of rick haha here they are!

That last one is my favourite out of them!

How many flashes are you working with Beaglee? Just the one?

lighting is spot on in the last shot. nice. too bad about that pole. can’t chop it down i guess

Avatar

Yeah just the one dude, I’ll probably buy another one soon enough, after I get some other things haha.

I actually edited out a pole that was going through the skater, but left that, just because it just frames the skater more in a way.
I don’t know really haha

re: cloning
dust spots = ok
poles, other people, garbage = not ok

I agree with Beaglee. The pole adds to the photo in my opinion, would be kind of bland without it. If you’re good at cloning, then clone out whatever the hell you like, as long as it doesn’t look obvious. I couldn’t even tell you’d cloned out the pole. I can’t see how this could be “not okay” if no one even notices it. Some people would call it ‘cheating’ probably, but it’s just something for fun and getting better at photoshop can only be a good thing.
