Haha! yeah i know how that is. I have done it a MILLION times! Its why I have not one but two(!) sets of jumper lead.

Devo’s i just got knocked back when seeking sympathy from the coffee shop lady.
I have been in the office since 7am and already I am looking tired! She commented on this and I told her I had been here since 7 am and that means that I got in the office before my alarm normally goes off.
It then started a convo about where I live and our commutes each day (she gets up at 4.30am)
She just ended with “yeah but you have lots of money…”
Um no - but yeah I probably earn a lot more than she does. But i suspect not as much as she thinks!

when you don’t earn much, $100 extra per week seems like heaps. I suspect you earn at least a few hundred more than her per week!

Probably but my friend who was a casual teacher earns more than me if she works 5 days!
And heaps more than me if I was doing my role as a temp!
So she would think you were rich too

yeah - that is a big IF! I can work 3 days in a week and earn a bit more than my husband makes in a whole week….BUT
I bet you it more than evens out considering there is at least 12 weeks of the year when there is no work to be had, and taking into consideration that 5 days per week of casual work is almost unheard of…maybe in a block of a few weeks at a time or maybe even a whole term of work if you’re lucky.
Term 1 and Term 4 are notoriously difficult to get casual work in. At the start of the year, there aren’t that many teachers away…at the end of the year, casual budgets are usually blown and year 12s aren’t around, so teachers who would otherwise be teaching year 12 are made to cover.
The tea lady probably earns more than me. I’m not whinging - just saying how it is
haha I just had a look at my last pay slip…my financial year-to-date gross earnings from casual teaching is under 13K. I’ve made probably another 1K before tax from my holiday job at the kids club at the resort. With another month of the financial year left, I’m not gonna have earned half what the tea lady earns
