i bought a go pro and so i can be a pro at using it and editing videos during the season what program should i use on a mac? any ideas or hints would be great
Probably best off asking this question in the Photography/Video subforum and check out Spaz’s post here https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/1240/
Having said that on Mac for basic editing iMovie should be fine for more advanced stuff you should probably look into the FinalCut range.
cheers mate
Mpegstreamclip and iMovie will cover most your needs.
GoPro is an oxymoron.
Are you looking to make money from your video and edits? (that’s the definition of pro). Look into the professional role of a videographer (it’s about sales).
There are only a handful of professionals using headcams (none I know off use GoPro by choice).
I guess you mean you want it to look pro…. iMovie will make it look pro.
yeah i just got one of the GOPRO hero cams just for fun to play around with and edit the trips that me and mymates go on. just the easy stuff like fish eye, wide angle, music, slow mo, and rewind
I’m finding Final Cut Pro pretty awesome. Really easy to use and it has all the tools you need to either spend heaps of time working on fine details or whip up a nice looking video in a few hours.
Not sure if it is just my hardware but iMovie unexpectedly quit on me every now and then while editing and I’m yet to have that problem with iMovie.
I have been using MPEG Streamclip for converting and Final Cut Express for editing. iMovie should be fine for basic stuff though. Make sure you download MPEG Streamclip - it’s free and very useful.
thanks guys cant wait to start filming and putting them up

Lol I thought he was mentioning that mac’s never fail… hahaha
People and programers fail not computers.
Hey Lachi!!!!!
I have used nothin but the GoPro HD Hero along with iMovie 09 for these edits found on my Vimeo & YouTube Channels!!!!!
Tips?????
Don’t take it too seriously and have fun while ya filmin as this will show in the end result, shoot lots of weird stuff along with ya footage of ridin, as ya can use some of it to break up the footage and make it more interestin for the viewer and ya mates!!!!! Also make it short 3-5 mins s a great place to aim at!!!!! And I found r4 (960p) the best settin to use!!!!!
look forward to seein some of ya stuff!!!!!
Good advice Mizu.
Mizu’s edits a filming are sick.
Hardly “sick”, spaz!!!!!
But from a home movie stance, I think they cut the mustard!!!!! Plus I had fun muckin around, and at the end of the day that’s what really counts imho!!!!!
When considering the equipment you use, and I use that description in combining both edit and video skill - I’m happy to say sick.
Which in my vernacular is between good and great.
IN ORDER
wrong, bad, poor, ok, good, sick, great, excellent, epic
Defs cut the mustard.
