Yep 99% sure I’ll do Niseko in Jan. How far along in planning are you? I’ve started looking into flights and accommodation but nothing locked down yet.

Hah well there goes my hopes of riding your coat tails!
When does your term 1 start? We’re back to work on the 29th and I’ll probably go earlier to get in more days (did 11 nights between Hakuba/Tokyo this year)
From what I’ve seen so far Niseko accommodation seems pretty reasonable but seeing as you’ve been there before I’m open to recommendations.
I’d like to spend most of January up there… think we go back to work 29th Jan!!!
Niseko is awesome!!! Last time I went through skijapan and stayed in one of their lodges… It was fine - great location, good breakky and staff! Would definitely go back… Then again that was 4 years ago

Free accom where ever mum and dad are. And if you come with me I was thinking we could use it as a base and do a bit of a road trip!

I’ll look into skijapan later (mainly been looking at liquid snow options so far)
I’m not fussy at all with accommodation as long as it’s clean with a decent location. I’m running into the typical single traveller problem though where everything is at least twin share and after my last experience with randoms I’m a little hesitant

Nah not really - just the airfare. but remember free accom offsets that

Just discovered that the new Jetstar Japan that’s just been setup will make domestic flights within Japan pretty easy to sort out and cheap!
I just put in some random dates in January 2012 from Narita to Sapporo return for around $110 + Baggage
Anyone thinking of travelling to Japan in February might want to jump on Jetstar’s site ASAP. They currently have a “Take a friend for free sale” on.
Just did a quick test and Gold Coast to Narita can be had for around $1000 return.. So $500ish each!
