For good response in the park or hauling ass from the top of the hill - which would you choose (and why if you feel strongly)
Rome 390. ‘Cause I’m anti Burton.
Also because I have mates that kill it from park to cliffs with the 390’s and I dislike the feel of Burton bindings. I just ordered some Union Contact Pro’s (Another good option for all mountain if you’re looking) but the 390’s were my second choice and I am still looking to get a pair later in the season.
i have 390 boss’
i love them, nice fit, buckles/straps are good. I have used them in the park, on runs, side country etc in tahoe and love them, I was going to go with the contact pros but i couldnt find a pair in my size when i was looking for a set of bindings and i got an awesome deal on these so couldnt say no.
I would highly recommend them,
Burton Cartels, cause I love Burton
I’ve used a few different bindings and the Cartels are so far my favourite. Only other ones that I’d say were on par, that I’ve used, were Mizu’s Flux’s. But they weren’t the model you’ve listed and I’m not sure what they are called (damn they name their bindings stupid!).

What size were you looking for? I always have that problem so I got my cousin to send them from the states.
The 390’s I’ve seen have definitely been well priced compared to other bindings.

The Forces are probably more all mountain than the Contact Pros. Bit stiffer all around so they are better for jumps and riding than the contacts or the C pros.
Large. everywhere was sold out including online shops in the states, i got my 390’s delivered for $140 so yeh, very well priced haha
burton cartel reflex
Personally I tend to break boards and have only had luck riding union forces with their softer pads underneath the binding. So if I would choose between the three suggested bindings I would pick the cartels with reflex to avoid any kind of dead spot on my board. If breaking boards wasn’t an issue I would definitely grab the flux tt30s. I rode them for a half a season before I snapped a board and went back to my unions. I absolutely loved them. Super responsive and comfy. The 360 ankle strap wrap just works better than most other ankle straps out there.

Union Contact Pro’s Another good option
I feel ya SamNZ, heard really good things around Union, but what I’ve seen in person- nice… but not in my price range .
390 like a BOSS!
While I’ve gotta say my last Cartels lasted a ridiculous amount of seasons, I feel they are more aimed towards park but not so much about hauling ass.
I haven’t ridden the flux bindings.
The 390 Boss is a stiffer binding. So it WILL haul ass and less flexy but more responsive for aggressive park riding.
I went from Cartels to Technines last year. The Technines are a stiffer binding and I definitely made a good choice.
I used to think that park was all about flexy everything. But running a stiffer binding allows you to flex the board more. And it handles higher speeds better… so it’s all positives. The only negative is you won’t be to tweak as easily, but I honestly haven’t noticed any difference in the grab department.
Thanks for all the responses, I appreciate the different views - definately helped get my head around
