At the end fo the day Trent. It depends on where you want to take this VS how much time you have to invest in it VS cost to yourself

Is it just for fun sort of venture? Or you want to have a proper crack at doing this for a business?
Can you invest a shitload of time into the design/quality control if you do go with Chinese made?
Do you want to make affordable hoodies with decent quality or top notch aussie made ones but risk selling less due to the price?

I mean we will buy them to help you out, but the wider population may baulk at the price and just look elsewhere because lets face it. These days people see price tags before checking out items.

Susan is made on the same cutting floor, by the same people as target. Just a different pattern and a massively different price. Quality is equal.

The peeps I know that do really well out of using China do it hands on - they go there and inspect the supplier. Just like the best chefs know what farm their food comes from.

We do a lot of Chinese purchasing for costumes online and put way more time into chasing orders and do it at risk of quality (luckily quality isn’t a big importance for one use costumes). We do this instead of making them - and we make 100’s a year, using a small volunteer workforce of mum’s and students. Quality from China is usually ok, but you’ve nailed the big problems with china Trent.

Keep your head on your shoulders too. Your not competing with Burton etc, your competition is the other start up brands. Price yourself inline with them. The big brands have several items in each product range and all sizing and cover all budgets/wallets.
Importantly you need the product to be popular remember; “sheeple”. Once the sheeple see other sheeple doing what all the other sheeple do they can not resist following. And the only way to make money is by selling convenience.
What your doing is that which is too difficult for your customers to do for themselves.

Experience means nothing if your following a dream, So don’t worry about knowing little about textile or any other industries.
