I’m on a Sony Ericsson something-or-other Android smartphone.
I love it because it has a touch screen, but a slide out qwerty keyboard for sms. WHYYYY have these disappeared? I love my phone too because of the slide out keyboard it is slightly chunky and I’ve dropped it a squillion times and its never cracked the screen or anything.
I am dreading getting a new phone as they are all frign touch screen only and so darn sensitive I have no idea how I’m going to msg properly on the stupid thing…and phones have gone back to being massive and taking up your whole pocket again. GAH!
I hate the Iphone/ipod crap where you have to have itunes and can only sync with one computer. So annoying!
Drag and Drop all the way! So much easier.

Yeah my mother had the same concern when she was coming from a Nokia with a full keyboard to the touchscreen GS2 but even she picked it up pretty quickly.
The beauty of android is you can download a whole bunch of different keyboards with different keys/functions (some designed just for thumbs, ones where you dictate the message etc) so that certainly helps. Lots of people also fall in love with “swype” style typing which simply involves sliding your finger somewhere near the letter you want. It’s actually really easy and quick as the prediction is really accurate.
Drag and dropping is something you take for granted until you come across someone who wants something transferred to their iphone and you begin the itunes ordeal. I recently had to setup 15 ipads in a school which involved activating them all then syncing them individually one at a time so it’s a bit of a sore point at the moment.
I must say I do like the sywpe thing, my old girls phone has it, very cool
