compression tights or thermals?

I use underarmour cold gear, got them from the UK:
http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/speedshop.asp?BRAND=40&GROUP=CG&SS=1&ALT=Under Armour - Cold Gear
about £12 shipping. Regular price is a bit under $100AUD inc. shipping for a set of long tights, but it goes down to $75 every few weeks when they have 25% off sales.
I’ve had trouble finding cold gear easily, most sports stores don’t stock the cold gear range.
There might be better deals around ebay and such though, so it’s just a matter of keeping your eyes open. i definitely noticed the difference, less muscle burn being the biggest one.

Sounds like most feedback is that the compression skins help with muscles and knee pain. Will have to invest in some then. Curious how Nthn beaches and Andy go with them…

Sorry mate, I totally forgot to take them up the first weekend but I did just spend 3 days at Buller and I wore them everyday.  I didn’t go for the skins, I picked up some Slazenger full length compression tights from big W for $50.  Wasn’t sure if I would like em so wasn’t prepared to spend $120 on the skins.  First impression was they were way more comfortable than I expected.  I didn’t notice them on the slopes much, they didnt get in the way or feel weird and no problems with sweat either.  The biggest test was passed with flying colours as I had almost zero soreness afterwards either muscular or joint soreness.

I dunno if I would say it was all down to the compression tights, was fairly cruisy on two days but the middle day we hit it from before 9am right through till 5pm with maybe 20mins for lunch.  My mate was pretty sore but I was fine.  I dunno if they are the sole reason but for $50 you can afford to try for yourself, I would recommend it.

My better half uses the cold gear for football training and says it’s fantastic and keeps him very warm.

That sounds alrite. think i may go have a llook for em and try them out this season. smile

this has been the first time ive herd about ‘compression’ tights.. ive herd of skins tho. so they are basically the same??

So whats the basic idea behind compression tights ??
first impression was they are fairly tight and hold your muscles firmly to prevent damage.. or how do they work?

thanks.

Yeah Skins are the same thing. The compression increases circulation and reduces lactic acid build-up in your muscles.

i wear both.. as i wear a gore tex shell pants and i’ve got chicken legs so they get cold…

been using my addidas compression tights for about a season and a half now.. love them.. only thing is though is that i have to slide them up so they’re outta my boot.. i think the snow skins branded ones are shorter to allow for this… the first time i wore them i let them go all the way down into my boot and i got blisters from them..
