Rider’s Blog: Day 67
It was a beautiful and warm day today. It finally feels like spring again. I went into the park with Finney and Dan for the first time in ages. I really haven’t ridden much park this season with all the snow we’ve been getting.
The park is in awesome condition and I’ll be lapping it till the end of the season now. It was lots of fun hitting the jumps (mainly to get a feel for the transitions and find the right speed). I’m really looking forward to hitting them more over the next few days.
My 3 weeks of fun in Whistler has come to a close. Am waiting at Vancouver airport for my flight to LA, then onto Sydney.
I had an amazing time in Whis and was blessed with heaps of awesome pow! Some spring slush over the last few days was the perfect way to finish it all off. A GoPro edit will be put together eventually…
Bye to all my Whis mates! Had a rad time shredding and hanging out with you all. I’ll be seeing a lot of you at the BW shred
Huge thanks to Jeremy and Michelle for having me over while I was there. You were both the perfect hosts!
@Dan man that went so quick i cant believe its been 3 weeks already. I am glad you had rad times my friend now get back to depressing reality life ... lol
Dan, it’s been an absolute pleasure. It was so good to catch up, hang out, get drunk, and especially go shredding again. It was really cool to see you back in Whistler. Can’t wait to catch up again when Michelle and I get back to Australia.
Rider’s Blog: Days 68 & 69
Yesterday was Dan’s last day on the mountain. We had a really fun day riding park and carving groomers. The park is a lot of fun at the moment. The jumps are super nice with lots of different sizes. I must say, the jump line is one of the best I’ve seen on Whistler. Props to Charles Beckinsale and the rest of the crew for getting them so perfect. The last jump on the right line is super smooth and the transitions are perfect.
We went into the village last night for the Sarah Burke tribute. It honestly felt like all of Whistler was there. It was a huge turnout and there was a really positive vibe around. It was really sad seeing all the photos of her but at the same time it was really nice to hear her loved ones speak. You could just tell how many people she touched and inspired in her short life. Her father and husband spoke, many friends spoke, as did Mike Douglas (skiing legend).
I went up for a few late laps today. Hit the park, bombed some runs… the weather wasn’t as good as it’s been. I went up late but rode till last lift.
Sarah Burke tribute in Whistler Village
They were handing out these cards (front) and candles
Back of card
Gosh the back of that card is giving me goose bumps!!

Rider’s Blog: Day 70
Park laps is what spring is all about here. Had such a fun afternoon lapping Whistler Park by myself. Considering how little park I’ve ridden this season, it’s so nice to get back in there. It’s seriously built so well with all the snow we had in March. I was starting to get floaty backside 180s with grabs on some of the smaller jumps. I hit almost everything down the right line. Up box, into rainbow rail, into down rail, then the 1st and 3rd jumps. I started hitting the gap to barrel as well in the lower part. Then finish off with the up rail. I scoped out the left side on my last run - lots of fun things in there too which I’m looking forward to.
There’s also so many nice hits in and around green chair. Little side hits for spinning everywhere. Super stoked to spend the next 12 days riding park to finish off the season. I’m going to hit the big “Hollywood” jump under the lift tomorrow. Looks super sick.
need to go riding again before i leave monday is my last day of riding , i dont have a phone though..
What you’re only gonna be riding 12 more days Jeremy? booo
Yep, we leave Whistler on April 25th. Fly out of Van on May 1st.
Rider’s Blog: Day 71
Had a cruisy day riding park with Marc. Basically rode the small jump line into the right hand side of the park for most of the day. I ticked off one of the three things I wanted to do today but still pretty stoked on it. I didn’t hit the big ‘Hollywood’ jump today and I didn’t get backside 180s off the gap to barrel but everything else was feeling solid. The highlight of my day was doing the biggest backside 180 I’ve ever done off a park jump. I did it off the last jump on the right line. Stalled rotation, super smooth in the air, stomped it and rode out full speed. Also got my frontside boardslides back on the down rail. Best day I’ve had in the park for ages.
In other news, Telus WSSF has started. Lots of cool stuff in the village with freebies being handed out for the next two weeks. They are building a huge (and I mean seriously huge) spine jump at the bottom of the village. I think the contest is tomorrow and it should be quite a show.
Was a very sweet day in the park jeremy. Good laps with Shane and his possi before jeremy showed up too.
Stoked on the back 180, very steezy off the last booter, lots of float. throw in a grab and would make for a sweet shot tomorrow. ill bring the camera up in the afternoon.
Slushy and springs snow, lots of people doing park laps today for sure. Seemed like everyone was waiting and hitting the hollywood jump.
Lots of pro guys in town for telus as well. Jeremy and i walked past trouble andrew in the village, and the DC team was in the cabin behind us on the gondola. If your in whistler should check out Trouble Andrew tomorrow playing live on the telus stage at 9pm after the big spine event. People were hitting the spine this afternoon testing out speed and air time, looks like they’ll get some massive air out of it.
Sounds likes heaps of fun guys! Nice work with the back 1 Jeremy! That was a pretty big jump. Photos tomorrow would be good
The run before I did the 180, I knuckled the jump pretty badly trying the same thing. I thought I had enough speed but I guess it was a bit too slow. Spun the 180 and landed right on the knuckle. Somehow I still stomped it and rode out switch, but my lower back took such a beating. I felt it straight away; knees and back took the full impact. Not wanting to finish the day that way, I went back up and did it right. That said, I was super sore at the end of the day so went to the chiro. He said it was going to feel worse tomorrow (which is does haha) and to take a couple of days off. There’s no way I could ride today but I can’t wait to get back out there.
Anyone going to watch the big hip/spine jump tonight? I’m going to watch the finals at least. That jump is a monster!

Great day riding today with Marc, Finney, Megan, and Blake. Met Finney and Marc when I was going to demo the NOW bindings lol
