Binding Riser Plates

Avatar

Risers actually give you faster edge-to-edge response (thats why its good for carving) however they limit your flex pattern (bindings usually have a bigger surface area in contact with your board, meaning you get more response when flexing your board)

hence “who had a park board and a carving board. His carving board had risers his park board didn’t.”

You dont really need risers man, itll just mess up your flex pattern. Instead play around with your angles and maybe invest in some newer boots (size 12 boots today as like size 10 from 4-5 years ago)

For reference im a size 12 boot, and i can get away with boards with a waist width of 251mm, that is pushing it but i find 253-255mm is perfect for me, any bigger and i feel like im riding an ironing board

I know a lot of boardercross riders that swear by those palmer risers. Functionally they work great but didn’t sell well to the average consumer because people didn’t like the feeling of sitting so much higher up on a board. Good luck finding a pair.
