New GoPro Hero 2

Avatar

Ok so I charged it to max and let it stand on my desk for the night.
It has been +/- 14h and the battery is still fully charged.

So I guess it must have been the cold and/or accidentally power on.

Is there a super safe way to store in a backpack? Because I think that’s also a reason why it broke :p(the pins you have to push to push the camera out of it’s lock broke of, but fixed now as mentioned)

And I know 2.5h is a lot of footage but that is the battery life so shouldn’t I get, theoretically, 2.5h of footage?

btw another good comparison video:

When it’s recording it’s drawing more power from the battery than when it’s just turned on.

Store it in your backpack without the battery in the camera and keep the battery in an inside pocket of your jacket.
^You said super safe!

All depends on how ya usin the camera!!!!

ie what settings ya use, how many times ya turn it on/off, what BacPac’s if any ya use, etc etc!!!!!

Good to hear that the battery is ok!!!!! It may have just needed a few cycles in order to hold a charge well????? (another trait of Lith batteries)

/facepalm for not coming up with this myself :D

And I use it on max settings(I’m an HD nerd ^^) but the change I get 2.5h of footage a day is little I guess :D unless I videotape every lift ride LOL

Ha!

My first PoleCam was the handle of my shovel. (I found it a bit heavy which is why I started using discarded ski poles)

I think I’m gonna either ‘borrow’ a stick from my mom or ‘borrow’ one from my friends until I get I get a decent pole :D
Any tutorials on how to mount a GoPro on a ski pole with just the basic mounts?

If ya want somethin sturdy ya have to get either an FCS fin mount, or the handle bar mount as shown here!!!!!

I’ll watch it later(in class now ^^); I don’t have time to go buy a special mount though! Maybe a roll of duck tape will help me out LOL

Duct Tape holds the world together so it will be fine for holding a camera on a pole!
